Project name:
Alien horse racing rpg
Brief description:
A horse racing rpg set in a medevalish world. Game takes place in the city of Dash, an important trade hub among the empire that has ruled it for several decades since it was conquered. In a romanish society, where being a citizen of the empire sets you above non-citizens, players attempt to survive and race horses in an environment where famines and plagues can happen, where fires can sweep through the city or riots can erupt only to be suppressed by the empire.
Also crime and poverty is common place and security is always concern.
Target aim:
Free to play. A long term goal would be to turn the game from php to a 3d online flash game some time in the future.
Compensation:
None at the moment. That can change in the future.
Technology:
Simple browser based game, currently using javascript, php, mysql, and html.
Talent needed:
A knowledgable PHP programmer(s) would be greatly appericated with expierence in html, javascript, and mysql. A webmaster to help improve the site's look and feel. Also an artist for 2d artwork for the game. Icons, banners, graphics, backgrounds, etc. A mixture of these webmaster/programmer/artist skills would be greatly appericated. Newbies will be considered if they are dedicated.
If you're interested in finding out how a real mmorpg is made.(The game can easily be scaled up to mmorpg size from what I know.) This would be the place to learn what it takes to make one.
Team structure:
Two Php Programmers at the moment, me and one learning php.
A third member may join team in a few weeks to work on music and sounds.
Website:
www.alienhorse.com
The game is playable though the gameplay is still changing as new things are being added in.
www.alienhorse.com/game for the game.
Contacts:
contact me on this forum or in game or at feedback@alienhorse.com if you want more details
Additional Info:
You can view screen shots on the site though they are rather dated. The game isn't much in the way of visuals.
I'm willing to take semi-newbies as long as they have some skills. I can't spend my time teaching complete newbies though. Contact me if interested in learning.
