Microsoft, Bungie Reveal Full Halo 3 Edition Details

Microsoft and Bungie have announced the full details behind the highly anticipated three-edition release of Xbox 360's Halo 3 this fall, including more on the Spartan helmet-encased Legendary Edition.

News of the latest installment of the Halo series being split into three variously priced and featured editions broke in November of last year when retailers EB Games and GameStop began taking pre-orders for the game.

Microsoft has officially announced that the limited edition Legendary Edition, now priced at $129.99, will provide two bonus discs with the game, the first of which will include both a high-def 'Making of Halo 3' documentary and an audio-visual calibration tool "custom designed by the Halo 3 graphics and audio team to make the most of fans' high-definition home theaters.

The second disc, exclusive to the Legendary Edition, will include remastered cinematic material from the first two volumes in the Halo series with developer commentary, as well as a Bungie 'day in the life' featurette and exclusive content from machinima artists Red vs. Blue and This Spartan Life.

The Legendary Edition will also include a collection of storyboard art from Lee Wilson, depicting key moments and pivotal scenes from the production of Halo.

Next, the Limited Edition of the game, set at $69.99 will come more modestly packaged in a metal case, and will include the 'Making Of' bonus disc seen in the legendary edition, as well as a Halo fiction and art book which serves as an 'elaborate' guide to the Halo universe with new art and story elements.

Finally, a Standard Edition will be made available to consumers for $59.99 that will consist simply of the Halo 3 game with no bonus discs, books, or features.

No release date was revealed in the edition information, but Halo 3 is expected to launch in fall of this year.

those ss's that you most likely linked to ( i didn't look ) are pre-alpha screens. The trailer was used using the engine that they're using to make Halo 3. Currently they're not at the point to being that good but it will be that way or pretty dang close.

EDIT: The trailer you posted was just a ad/commercial. The shots that the OP posted are from the E3 2005-2006 w/e one it was trailer.

Lol, I saved up for my Xbox360 and Wii ^_^ These 2 systems combined costs only a tad more than a full set of PS3~

Looks nice, but I already spent my money on a PS3 and a Wii, so no Halo for me.
I guess I'll have to suffice with Halo Vista or w/e it's called.

A 360 with Live for 4 years, will cost you more than a PS3. Also, the PS2 Debuted in 2000, which means that it lasted 7 years. So in 7 years, you'd be paying around 1.5 times as much as a PS3 owner.

And to compete with Wii Sports, I have 13 free downloads since the release of the PS3. So if you wanna play some Wii Tennis, by all means sling your racket. But if you want to demo the courts with NBA 07, THEN PASS THE ROCK.

I agree for the most part but i haven't had a pc with Decent specs in awhile now iam about to start building one spending maybe 900-1000 and geting a 19inch wide screen iam hyped.

That is the thing about the pc, instead of buying a new pc, you swap out your old card, sell it and then buy a new one for like 200 bucks, less than a wii!!!
