--I am not supporting hacking in any way shape or form, in fact I quite resent it. Just wanted to make this clear before any flaming begins. This is meant to be an informative peice only to help those of us who are trying to play Guns legit.--
Dealing with a hacker. They are the most annoying thing in the world arnt they? So how exactly does one person deal with them? I get asked this alot beacuse I have my, effective, ways of dealing with hackers. I want to share my usual responses with onrpg and hopefully it will help some of the new players, or even some of you oldbees.
There are 3 basic ways of dealing with hackers.
1) Get the video!
What you can do is get a video of them hacking (This can be accessed using the F11 button) and send it to the helpdesk on ijji. More specificaly gunZ_Hacker@ijji.com and attach the video file.
Result: This has to be the most ineffecitve way of dealing with a hacker. They might review it and if other reports come up of the same person, they might take administrative action against them. I have reported several hackers and none of which have been banned yet. This also doesnt work due to the fact that when they ban someone the IP address gets banned, yet hackers can change their IP addresses with a simple little program, hence rendering Ijji fairly useless.
2) Vote to kick!
You can always vote to kick a hacker. Unfourtunatly they only made it so you could start a vote about once per game. This makes it so one person can remove one hacker from a game, saying the vote passes.
Result: A bit more effective than trying to report them. This method will boot them from game and the hacker will usualy move onto another game, hence leaving you alone. The only problem is, what do you do when the next one comes along?
3) Stoop to their level!
Whats one way to deal with a hacker? Hack em right back. This is what most people refer to as "defensive hacking" in a game. You basicaly get the hacks they are using, or a similar dll file, inject it and when that hacker comes along you can either kill them, or stay alive. Either way the hacker will see his efforts are useless and will eventualy leave game.
Result: The problem with this is that most of the time you will be labled as a hacker even though you were removing one from game. I have heard of these crusaders against hacker being reported themselves. This is a very effecitve method of dealing with hackers, but it removes your legitimacy from the game. Some people cant handle defensive hacking beacuse they see how much fun it is to hack a hacker and begin to do it to legit players. Basicaly they get corrupt.
There is another option though. A 4th one, one that is still being toyed with. There is a such thing as a Anti-Hack Dll. This will make you pretty much immune to their hacking beacuse it ignores any action their Ip makes against you. Kind of gives you superhuman powers against hackers. This is not a hack in itself, meaning it doesnt grant you any easy method to kill players or keep you alive from legit kills. It is a Anti-Hack "hack" so to speak. If you need a location to it them Pm me. I dont want to post it here and have people come after me blaming me for posting a virus or anything. As I said, this is an option still being toyed with, unless someone knows different than I and if so correct me.
Anyway, I hope that this "Anti-Hack" information piece helped someone. I know I am not an expert player yet, but I have played long enough to know the tips and tricks. If anyone needs to know anything more or have questions feel free to Pm me or catch me in game.
