Yes, it will be free forever supported by a totally voluntary item mall...as it is now.

Officially, it is open beta, and the fact that many bugs still havent been worked out and that many promised features still havent been implemented seem to support this, however, people are already paying through the item mall, so is it really beta when some people are paying for content? You decide.
