Normally dance games aren't my thing, but after playing basically every mmorpg I need something new. Well something to keep me occupied until 2moons is in OB . So is it worth the 908 MB download, since my d/l speed is only 256kb/s :eye:.

Yeah, the dancing looks like choreography(at least the vid i watched), but other than that it seems like an alright game to pass some time.
@Meow, I would've tried Acclaim's Dance if I could have but the servers are down because CB has ended, plus I wasn't in the CB either.
I think this game is fun. I use to play it but it got boring after a few weeks.

It's pretty good. The dance moves n' such are pretty nice, but don't go to the music at all. 80% of the population is Singaporean or Malaysian. The music in it is pretty good too. Overall, it's an okay game. Something nice to pass the time. I play it occasionally. =P

Dancing in dancing games = weird.
But in terms of gameplay, Audition... Sorta doesn't have a... "Rhythm" you have to follow. The only differences between songs are the speed at which you have to press keys that RANDOMLY appear. Then, you just have to time your spacebar right. It's possible to play this game without the songs.
So you can't really "memorise" a song like you would in other rhythm games. It's all random.
Which is what made me uninstall the game.
Random keys + spacebar timing = phail.
But if you like dressing up anime-ish 3D characters, and pressing random keys while listening to songs, it might be your type of game.

Wait for American Audition (http://audition.nexon.net/) if you want to play without lag, that is if you're from the US of course. It's still in beta but you won't suffer much lag most of the time.
AuSEA's file thing is big becuase it has a lot of songs and clothing graphics.
SDO / Acclaim DANCE = A lot of Skill
Audtion Online = Skill + Style
-
Play Acclaim DANCE or SDO if you like DDR using your fingers or feet.
Play Audition if you like making your avatars dance in a certain style to some good, and long, music using your fingers.
=========
There are different modes in the game and different playing styles.
Normal rooms: Normal play. 4 Keys or 8 Keys
Beat Up Rooms: DDR/Pumpitup/ w/e on crack. You use the numpad. Arrows kind of follow the rhythm... I suck at it so I'm not sure.
One Two Party: 4 Keys, Rhythm based. Not much skill needed.
Battle Party: Normal Play with NPCs for den.
-----------
In normal, the game is quite simple. Push the correct arrow combination you see and press the Space Bar at the right time. Simple.
Arrows aren't generated at random for the usual moves. Different combination generates different moves otherwise freestyle would be a mess.
In a freestyle, if you know some arrow combination, you could make your avatar dance in the style you like.
There's also an 8 Key mode which requires using the numpad. It goes in the usual 4 way and another 4 diagnals. The key position is the arrow direction while the 5 key is nothing. 8 Key combinations have most of the best moves from stupid dancing to nice flipping/breaking.
Battle party is the same, just VS an NPC.
------------
Beat up is Kind of like DDR/Pump it Up. You use the numpad and press the key to match the arrow the comes sliding from the side of the screen. The space bar is for the usual beat. I'm not sure if it follows the rhythm of the song or not. I'm not skilled in this mode.
------------
One Two Party is a rhythm based mode. If you've played Space Channle 5 then you should know how this works. Listen to the NPC call out numbers (corresponds to the numpad) and points direction in a certain rhythm. Follow the exact directions and rhythm to score.

Yeah it's a good game. Nice 3D anime-ish characters etc. Nice music. The community is quite young. I say an average of around 12 year olds or stupid teens. It's hard to find a smart person playing.
Yeah, I play a lot.
