Just as the tittle said:

I'm going to buy one of the games, but I can't chose between them...
Guild Wars, GW: Factions or GW: Nightfall?

I haven't tried Prophecies,I own Factions and have tried Nightfall,I would say Nightfall's my favorite.I prefer Factions' clases, but Nightfall's better to me.

I've only played Prophecies so this post is gonna be rather biased.
If you're going simple, then I'd recommend the first one. I've heard the general gist of the other two; Factions is more about PvP than story-driven so if you like beating the pants off of people halfway across the world, then I think that would be your game. Nightfall is story-driven, so if you like beating the crap out of monsters galore, I think that would be your ticket. The first, Prohphecies, is in between I'd wager.
They incorporate a new feature into Nightfall. The 'Hero' system. I haven't gone in-depth to it, but from what it looks, it seems basically like henchmen you can control. You set their skill-bars, their equipment, and more. Henchmen in Guild Wars are NPC's you can add to your party when questing if you're unable to find anyone else.
Let's see... ah yes. Prophecies has the general class set. The basics. Warrior, Necromancer, Mage, Archer, Monk, and Mesmer. Or Meismer. I dunno, forgot the spelling. >_< Each campaign or, 'expansion' adds two to the table. Factions adds Assasin and Ritualist while Nightfall offers the scythe-wielding dervish and the spear-throwing paragon.
That's all the input I can give. After lengths like this, I usually go into brain-fart mode. That, or the dreaded Writer's Block. D:

Buy Factions or Nightfall. Prophecies is deserted. Well, most of places are. I prefer Nightfall because of heroes. In the end, all you'll be doing is partying with others for hard stuff so get the one that most people are playing, nf.

Well, that's a bit of a hyperbole. While the game is definitely declining in players (It's spring-freaking-break and some of the towns barely have anyone on 'em.), it's not really deserted. Not yet anyway. It has a good livable amount of people to play with but...
I fear that soon, Prophecies will die. D:

lol I quit Guild Wars a little bit after night fall came out.. or was it before.. idk.. I don't remember..
all you need to know is nerfing troll farming = angry guild wars player(s).
So based off me only having prophecies and factions.. I'd say prophecies. I enjoyed playing prophecies much more then I did factions.

If they update Prophecies with actual elite mission, people will come back. But that's not gonna happen.
i know this is kinda off topic, but i was wondering: if my brother already has the original guild wars, and i buy factions, do i get an account of my own?

Factions isnt an expansion, its an individual campaign. If you make your own account w/o linking with your brother's Proph account, you DO get your own acct and such BUT you cant go to Tyria (Prophs)
Hope that helps :)

Yes, if you buy factions you can make another account, which would be your own.
