read this from somewhere

primarily because the graphs were completely disproportionate to the sales figures.

For example, numerically, the 360 had significantly less than fifty percent of the sum of all three console sales. Yet, the graph portrayed respective 360 sales as hovering above around seventy to eighty percent of total sales for the longest time. So there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that SOMETHING was inaccurate about that site, bogus or not.

I noticed today that they uh, "enhanced" the site by adding dynamic number changes, a line graph, and an ever-so-soothing baby-blue background. The graph representations appear to have been corrected (rounded up to the tenth):

Current graphical proportions:
360: 56.1%
PS3: 14.7%
Wii: 30.3%

These are the current numerical representations:
360: 55.44%
PS3: 14.25%
Wii: 30.30%

I still think the site's bogus, though.

this too

vgcharts lists their information from NPD, Chart track, Media chart...and then adds them when they arrive, rather than uploading a bigger number every hour. Plus it cites its sources rather than a random site with numbers. There must be other sites right? If not vgcharts is the best to be offered. I prefer to use vgcharts as a reference for the listed weekly and monthly sales as reported by NPD...it's handy for that.

but don't have to believe that 'cuz vgcharts.org maybe just as innaccurate or more accurate than nexgenwars.com so yeah.

I knew this long ago. VG charts is the closest charts to base off since companies have agreed with them.

I guess I'll remove that Wii sales tag from my sig. It never occured to me that this could be a fraud.

Was that thing ever reliable?

...That's why I go to the VG charts. It's about the closest you'll get, I guess.

The first comment covered it quite well

Uhm... Everybody knew this already, right? He takes salesdata that is known the latest and calculates how much are then sold every second.

He lets the time run and calculate the extra sales with it, untill the time that the latest sale data is out again.

Obviously NO ONE can show realtime sales. Not even VGA Charts.

BUT this guy has tuned down the numbers also. He did it with the 360, which he first had scaled to high. But still. If he calculates back to a second from sales data known, I don't see the problem. Yep it won't be completely accurate, but on the other hand it's the closest you get probably.

Because 600k PS3's sold in Europe. Says who? Sony? Analysts? real number?

Take that in mind

You think anyone who doesn't say something good about Sony is a 360 Fanboy. Do yourself a favor and stop being Sony's little puppet.

I don't see what's so wrong. The difference between the three was so great that the accuracy wasn't that much of a factor. Actually, the most it was inaccurate was the 360 by .66%. That's not that much of a difference. I mean, it's not like Next Generation has a team of Advanced Mathematicians running these numbers. It was probably a slight error coming from a person that is slightly less than perfect at number crunching.

exactly, that's the reason why i like the ps3 more than the 360. because the ps3 has motion sensing controls like nintendo and i love nintendo, the 360 doesn't have motion sensing controls now does it? nope

Nah but its controller is actually comfortable and easy to hold. It seems Sony went for looks with their controller and haven't changed it at all. What are these ideas Microsoft took from sony? Having a disk drive? How bout Sony using the center button on the controller just like Microsoft did?

Just like sony did? Lmfao. When the 360 came out the PS3 controller looked like a boomerang but they changed it and put a button in the center later. How the hell is Microsoft copying Sony?

That controller scheme coulda seriously failed.

Why when you got pissed off at your game you could have just chuck the controller it would have flew right back at you.

Also i have had my 360 sense launch and it has not broken or gone ape shit on me..........and if it did ms will replace it....how many other companys replace a year and 1/2 old item without a warranty?

I always thought nextgen wars was a little off no big deal.
