Only because people like you try to make it matter. IMO, post count is just a nice little way of letting people know how much you have to say.

I actually have way more posts then this (Somewhere in the 1200+ range), but since the reset we had a while ago I havn't been as active as I used to be.

Post counts don't mean much in the popularity ratings though, it just means you have a alot of free time (Or you've been a member for a while).
