The mod Urban Terror for quake 3 can now be dled and played as a free stand alone version.

Not technically a mmo but with threads about tactical ops and counter-strike here this fits nicely. UT is in the same area as the counter-strike and tactical ops genre.

Considering it's free it immediately beats counter-strike :p Urban terror has a bit more freedom when it comes to jumping and sprinting aswell.

I didn't want to mention community differences as another advantage of urban terror but nevertheless thanks for illustrating it.

Well, if you start naming how this game is better than CS you're bound to have someone brutally smack you. CS has a lot of fanatics =D.
BTW, I tried it earlier and it wasn't bad, truthfully I would play CS over this, however seeing it is free, it's a lesser alternative. It plays a lot better than the buggier free FPS such as Soldier front.

hmmm, i tried CS:S but didn't like it much. Maybe I try this.

i kinda liked this game , but i wouldnt say its better than cs/cs:s , but its not that bad . It got its good points , like the tactical vision thing is pretty cool . But cs could easily win urban terror because of the variety of maps , surf , racing etc ...

The graphics seem kind of bad when I looked at the link you got there.

In my opinion it's far far from better than Counter Strike in any way. Honestly though it was interesting for like six minutes and then it just got boring as hell. x_x

its a decent game but it comes 2nd to CSS, i just played and i got a score of 69 to 9 deaths...that cant be right for a first try...

i would play this when i got bored of CSS only :eye:
