Ok, the first task went from choosing from 6 final "designs", to voting for what style the game would be done in. The results are in and "Anime" is the chosen graphical style.

I would expect acclaim to have more experience with apparently foreign concepts such as copyright and intellectual property. I'd check acclaims website in the hope to see this news was originally posted on april 1st but am afraid nothing but disappointment would be the result.

What happened was a thread was opened where people would post there final ideas in the form of a 640 x 480 picture. After it was closed, DP and his developement team went through all the submissions, and chose the 5 that they thought were the best (although they chose 6).

The winning submission swill be the basis for the world that the game will take place in.

...and personally Asurael's is the only decent one up there.

Aureals because in fantasy you can do more things, get a bigger audience and all of the games that use that kind of animation get popular fast.

I voted for Mjuricek77's design, but even that was garbage.
Everyone seems to like Azurael's project when a crapton of awesome ideas were passed up for an evolutionary racer staring fast moving squids and dung beatles.

All it took, was a trip (by the higher ups) to the sidebar discussion to see where all the potential was, but I guess good ideas are not what the industry is about nowadays.

I cannot stand how the project is going to be dictated any of THAT.

Well, apparently DP realized that a lot of people disagreed with the final nominees. There is a new thread where people can "vote" for any of the submissions, and if one submission is shown to be very popular they might go with that one instead.

I'm sure that means nothing. Anyway, I guess We'll see by Tuesday whose idea is going to sink this project further.

if it would have a similiar gameplay such as Trackmania, or at least the graphical style of NFS most wanted, i think it would appael more. But from the looks of it, it's going to be a total flaw, with stupid lame cartoon drivers or something like auto assault, just horrible. You should really look at the writers section of the TS forum. Just awfull, it's plain group behaviour. They all write so ... so very cliché stories starting with 'The year is 20...' and ending 'Only you can stop the world from falling into oblivion', by doing what? shooting the crap out of eachother with gun equipped cars with skulls drawn on them?

-Chances that the game will actually turn out in a World of Warcraft on Wheels: 80%

Yes, the whole thing is about making an online racer.

Those finalists are pretty much moot now, what we are voting on got switched around totally not too long ago.
