I just this weekend bought the original Guildwars and GW: factions. Loaded the original first, then the Factions. My question is: How do I get to the factions game? When I hit the one icon I have it brings me to what I call the basic sign in screen with my characters. If I hit the factions button, it sends me out of game to a web site. Am i missing something?

Well each box has it own cd-key for different games. So the question is that did you put both in?

no need... when you make a new account it should ask you for a cd-key

In the sign-up screen there's the sign up space, then followed below by some options like 1) create new account or add access key, 2) change account password... I don't really remember and i'm at work so I couldn't check atm.

Make sure you've loaded both the Prophecies and Factions keys onto one account. This way your assassin can visit Tyria, and your Tyrian-made toons can visit Cantha, among a lot of other benefits versus creating them separately.

After you've created an account, you should now be able to log in using that account. The screen after that has an option to Create a character.

1. You should be given a choice to create a Roleplaying or a PVP-only character. Choose which.
2. You should then be given a choice to create the character either in Prophecies or Factions -- choose Factions as you'd like to try an assassin.
3. Customization screens are up next: your character's gender and appearance, and finally its name. Follow instructions and you'll automatically
start up in Factions in no time :)

hope this helps, there may be some steps above that I've mixed the order up, but that's general character creation :3

Choose one or the other. I suggest adding it to your existing GW account. Benefits are obvious.

It doesnt ask you to, but its quite obvious where to go.

If you already used both your keys to create an account. Its useless trying to merge them then. They will remain seperate.
