Acclaim Games announces the start of Open BETA testing for DANCE! Online,
the first free to play Massively Multiplayer Online Dancing Game to hit the
US. DANCE! Online BETA is now immediately available to all registered
players to play for free with their friends.

Acclaim has also partnered with Warner Music Group to receive songs from
their library of classic chart-topping hits and upcoming releases from hot
new artists. New songs will be patched in periodically to keep the
selection fresh with new music and different styles.

Players can use either the keyboard or a dance pad to match the beat of the
song and make their character perform choreographed dance steps. This
makes for very fun and addicting gameplay as you groove to the music for
combos. The game features up to 6 players dancing together and includes a
variety of game modes and options. You can even gain weight if you don't
exercise and get thin again by dancing or get married and dance in couples!

Players will be able to purchase optional items from the game shop to
customize their characters with clothing and various accessories. The game
will also be supported by in-game advertising.

To play DANCE! Online, you must first download and install the latest BETA
client available at http://dance.acclaim.com/downloads/game.htm. Please

It's pretty bad. It's a crappier version of super dancer online except with realistic faces, or should I say face because there's only 1 male white, 1 male black, 1 female white and 1 female black face available. 0 hairstyles besides the default one.

Music library is pretty small, in the end half the rooms are constantly playing "Sweat". At the moment half the screen sometimes is used to display big white "Acclaim" signs which will eventually be replaced by advertisements, have fun staring at AOL or whatever ads.

And these are just the things gone wrong due to acclaim's adaptation of sdo, sdo itself also has some flaws which you can find in the sdo threads.

Those who alrdy have an acclaim account from bots, 9dragons or dekaron might aswell try it though you probably won't be satisfied.

agreed. its a bad copy of super dancer online. i think just the face changed for the gfx. and the outfits too of course

This game is gonna get sued really bad.First it got a Vincent valentine head.That is bigger then your freakin body.Clouds FF7:AC shirt.A Vash head,With slit off mask and hair color.ANd the gameplay is too fast to keep up with im like slow the freakin thing down.Only people can actually play is the people who played stepmania...

Lmao, ya'll got to be happy with what you have...seriously people, not only is it beta, but there's really nothing different other then the faces and advertisements.

That's how the games are free in the first place.

And obviously Creid, you didn't try making your own room, did you? Really helps the experience out ALOT more.

Too bad the character face design doesnt fit well, and I was going to make a Ichigo momomiya/Ichigo Kurosaki dance duet.

Yeah.. I wanted to play SDO for a long time, but I'm not going to pay for a game I may not like.. I HATE the Dance! Music, and the faces look too.. 'mature'.. It IS the official NA version of SDO, but it sucks..

Hitamaru- Not true. They're VERY careful about legal issues, and I was able to play okay with never playing Stepmania =P
