Alright I created this thread in hopes DnF players can help each other out here. Hopefully asked questions can be answered and I'll help the best I can. Please do not ask about registering in this thread and about KSSN.

Edit: Still sprucing this sucker up.

So far we have a few guides and answers to some common questions, this post will be edited from time to time to include new answers and guides.

Classes and Jobs
Starting jobs are Ghost Knight, Gunner, Fighter, Mage, and Priest
Job change for each class is available at level 18 in which you do a quest for them.

:Ghost Knight:
Ghost knights are your standard swordsmen. You know the deal. Melee combat, swords.

:Ghost Knight Weapons:
The weapons they use are Short Swords, Katanas, Large Swords and Clubs/Maces. And for Weapon Masters, Lightsabers.

Short Swords, have the shortest range, decent speed, decent attack, high magic attack

Katanas, have medium range, high speed, low attack, high magic attack.

Large Swords, have large range, very low speed, and high attack, low magic attack.

Clubs, about medium range, very low speed, decent attack, decent magic attack.

Lightsabers. Insanely fast, insanely weak.

:Ghost Knight Job Classes:

Weapon Master

How to tell if they're one: White arm.
Choice of armor: Light Armor
Recommended weapon of choice: Lightsabers. But truthfully it's up to you.

Berserker

How to tell if they're one: Red eyes.
Choice of armor: Heavy armor.
Weapon of choice: Large Sword or Katana.

Soul Bringer

How to tell if they're one: Black aura.
Choice of armor: Cloth.
Weapon of choice: Katana

Asura

How to tell if they're one: Much like GSD, a red cross blindfold over their eyes.
Choice of armor: Plate/Steel armor.
Weapon of choice: Short swords or katanas.

:Ghost Knight Skills:

Revolver: The middle man of the gunner weapons. Decent speed, decent range, decent attack, decent magic attack.

Cannons: Low speed, only 2-4 hits, great attack, very low magic attack, medium range (BY MELEEING STANDARDS). They can be nice, but Stuck! can really get in your ass.

Autoguns: Fast, high magic attack, weak physical attack, decent tange.

Muskets: Slow but faster than a cannon, high attack, long range, low magic attack

Bowgun: Fast, weak, high magic attack, good range.

:Gunner Job Classes:

Launcher

How to tell if they're one: A big ol gun on their back
Choice of armor: Heavy armor.
Choice of weapon: I mostly see cannons, but sometimes I see autoguns too.

Spitfire

How to tell if they're one: A magazine on their back, a gun magazine, not the one you read.
Choice of armor: Leather.
Choice of weapon: Bowguns and Muskets

Ranger

How to tell if they're one: A cigarette in their mouth.
Choice of armor: Leather.
Choice of weapon: Revolver

Mechanic

How to tell if they're one: Silly looking flying robot follows them.
Choice of armor: Cloth.
Choice of weapon: Autoguns. If you're Ash: Whatever you feel like.

How to tell if they're one: They look like they've been in a few scraps. Bandaid on the face and cuts on their legs.

Grappler

How to tell if they're one: White bandanna.
Choice of armor: Light armor

Striker

How to tell if they're one: It took me a while to figure it out, but their hands shine.
Choice of armor: Light armor

:Priest Skills:

:PVP:
In PVP (which can be accessed by clicking the crossed swords icon at the top right of the screen once you're in game.)
there are three servers, the top server you can gain PVP points and PVP experience in, and the other two just for fun. PVP points can be used along with currency to purchase unique weapons or healing items.


:Stress Meter::
Stress Meter is the blue bar above your SP, you start with 156 stress and it decreases by 1 each time you go to a NEW screen on a play field (if you backtrack onto old screens it will not take stress). Once it runs out some people say PVP raises it back up, I however have not seen it increase. There is a set point each day when you regain stress, which would be 2 PM Pacific Time and 5 PM Eastern Time.

:Making cubes:

Perhaps you've noticed the old scientist man at the lowest screen of Hendon Myre. He is the key to making cubes. Talk to him and pick the choice where the icon is some sort of spiral thingy. This is the Grinder. You basically drag unwanted equipment into it and voila, cubes. Most of the time you'll get clear cubes, which aren't useless as many high level skills require one to use. Sometimes you'll get colored cubes, and if you grinded a rare item, you'll get crystallization which is often needed for item recipes.

:Job Change:
Job changing begins at 18 for all classes. Talking to your skill npc, you'll find a quest that is a purple book, you can pick any of the available jobs, but after that choice you're stuck so choose wisely.

There are three to four quests in this series if I recall correctly. Most requiring you to have a certain item, amount of items, clear a map, defeat a number of monsters, beating a boss with a certain difficulty road, and anything else I may have missed.

Now here are job change quests, for the most part, I copied and pasted them from other posts and edited where I felt needed editing. Credit goes to those who posted them.

PROTIP: For difficult maps you need to do solo, you can have a party with you and before you defeat the boss, have your party members drop from the game and finish the boss off.

Ghost Knight to Soul Bringer job change quest:

It's been changed, someone inform me of what it is.

Ghost Knight to Berserker job change quest:

Quest 1: Talk to Sharon.

Quest 2: Acquire 60 red cubes and get 2 drops from the zombie boss. I suggest kings road as thats the easiest way to get it.

Ghost Knight to Weapon Master

1.talk to grinder
2.get 60 white cubes
3.bring quest item to GSD
4.clear zombie map on expert.

Ghost Knight to Asura

You need 60 blue cubes and to get 2 quest drops from the zombie boss.

Gunner to Launcher:

1) Black Cow on Experts
2) Fire Witch on Experts
3) Zombies on Experts

Gunner to Spitfire

For Spitfire quest:

Changed, someone tell me.

Gunner to Mechanic

Changed, tell me.

Gunner to Ranger

1st one: complete the grack crack (black taur) with less than 16 hits

2nd one: complete burning grack crack(fire witch) with 70% style

3rd one: Complete burning thunder land (zombie map) with A Rank.

Mage to Battle Mage:

Changed, tell me.

Mage to Elemental Mage:

Changed, tell me.

Mage to Summoner

Changed, tell me.

Mage to Scholar

Fighter to Striker:

1) Clear Black Tau with 70% style or higher.
2) Clear Fire Queen in 7 minutes.
3) Clear Zombies on expert.

Fighter to Street Fighter

Fighter to Grappler

Fighter to Nen Master

Priest to Crusader

Priest to Infighter

Step 1: Defeat 20 Blue Zombies on any difficulty, on the Zombie map.

Priest to Avenger

There are four quests to each job change if I'm correct. A few of the starting quests are simple things, such as accomplish 70% style or technic, get an A grade on a map, but progress into things most non-korean readers can't really understand.

I'll post later with screens on how to do various things such as upgrade items etc. just simple things that arent too hard to figure out but some casual players may be wondering.

Also help with the above question would be greatly appreciated.

I'll rather get those items that cost 800K with 1000 Vps.
And using an item when PvPing, Healing item and such, is not a good thing also.

Sky Castle maps seem to drop HP and MP restoration items, try playing around there a few times.

I still can't figure out what to do for my job quests. Does onrpg have any Korean readers at all? :P

how do i make a character at the character page i can read everything just fine (well not read) but i can see the korean letters and when i press the make character i see a white line blinking in the box wich means i can type so i try to type but i cant but i want to play so bad

I'm not sure what the problem is cloud, assuming you're using WinXP, try setting the regional mode to Korean and try again.

Cloud you don't need to make your windows default language korean you just need to add the Korean IME to your list of languages. It can be done in control panel -> Regional language settings or whatever. Click the languages tab then click details and ass Korean.

Use Applocale.

It was the only way I could run Eternal Chaos(Japanese Laghaim).

If it worked for that game, then it should work for DNF.

try to remember the point of this thread WAS a help/translation thread. The help is working fine, but it really would be nice if the korean speakers could lend a hand to people who can do nothing but screen/compare to various things to figure out job change quests.

How about making a little guide of the quests that every character gives? Not to translate all what they say, only the objectives, cause I don't know what to do in most of them.
I'm not requesting a huge guide, I only want someone that says. This character gives that quest, this other and this other. And tomorrow for example or someone different, this other character gives this and...
I think that this guidance can help lots of people.

Making like full guides would just be ridiculous. The point of this topic is to translate screenshots provided and then if someone in the future needs the info for that class BINGO its right here.

Then, it will be useful if anyone finds a program that finds characters from images, cause then with the translator utility of google its a moment :p

For cubes have you ever noticed that one scientist fellow on the lower western side of the second area (the name escapes me right now but it's where the 2nd set of maps are). Talk to him and choose the last option and take equipment you're not using and drag it over to the grinder and it'll produce cubes. However this only seems to make clear cubes, I have no idea how to get colored ones.

Ok thanks, to get colored cubes, I think at the northeast of the city theres a man with a robot horse, he can transform your cubes to colored ones (if you have the materials and the money of course), also he transforms materials into other materials of high grade

Ams, I didn't know that I though it changes the colour :P
But when I recycled a weapon, it gaved me a blue cube so I think that the color cubes are obtained as the transparent ones :)

Has anyone done berserker quests? I'm having trouble with what I'm supposed to get. I hate how the quest and item window can't be open at the same time to compare the darn symbols :mad: .

Oh yeah quick question, when you change job does your characters appearance change a little? I've seen swordies with red masks or red eyes and gunners with a launcher thing on their back and mages with a little book on their belt, all using the default clothing. Thanks again for all the help :)

I have a question, when I die, this window appears and I can't regain health and mana.
My question is, I can only make this stat disappear if I go to the tavern and i speak with the lady that is there?
Or there is another way? like waiting some time or anything else, cause i don't want to pay so much money :(

That's regeneration mode. Wait about 5-10 minutes or so and your health and mana would be restored. The more you have the longer it takes. I usually just go do pvp or go afk to pass the time.

From what I had to do and a few of my friends most of the part 1 job quests involve talking to someone in the town, I don't know if this applies to all classes but I hope this helps. The NPC you have to talk to doesn't have the ! or anything above his head, you just click them once and then they go oh hey i can complete that quest for you. Goodluck buddy and if you complete it all the way tell us how you did it :p

Also Fael I think when it says sky castle armon I think it might mean just beat a sky castle stage in that time or maybe that boss, the little kid who sits on a rock and floats around. I dunno I'm just guessing but hopefully it helps.

If I had to guess it's probably that Ice Queen Fairy woman on the 2nd set of maps. Her map won't appear until you do some other quest though, much like the zombie map.

Soul Bringer, Talk to the girl mage at west coast, then yeah.
You have to go to the zombie map to get the quest items and bring 'em back to her to make something for the bald headed guy ;D

For berserker quest, I figured out that I need 81 red cubes, 10 ogre power potions and 2 of something else but no clue what it is. Could someone help me out with this?

Well, i just completed my elemental 2 quest, and i recieved a new one
for a second i thought i needed to kill either fire queen or the lighting goblin
but that did not work so perhaps someone can tell me what i need to do next.

Ok, I figured out Berserker so now I'll share with you guys on how to be one :p



First part is of course being lvl 18 and choosing the Berserker quest from the Swordsman trainer.

Quest 1: Talk to the female mage lady in west side.

Quest 2: She wants 81 parts of red cube, 10 ogre power potions, and 2 stones of revenge. Red cubes come from grinding rings (or buy them off koreans in the trade channel), you can talk to the alchemist guy and buy the ogre power recipe and make 30 of them from just 1 scroll, the ingredients are pretty easy. As for the stones of revenge, you have to goto the zombie mission and kill the boss. Upon killing him you get the quest items. After all this is collected, return to the mage chick in west side and you're done.

Quest 3: The easiest one, just go talk to the swordsman trainer! Now you are a berserker woooo :p .

Hope this helps anyone wanting to become berserker! If anyone else figures out how to finish their job quest please post how you did it to save everyone LOTS of trial and error!

okay, I've made a little progress on my Launcher quest, but now I need help :(

Launcher 1- Get quest from the gunner skill/weapon NPC in Hendon Myre, then go talk to the old man who sells the potion scrolls and grinds stuff into cubes on the screen to the south, this quest ends and he gives you Launcher 2-

Launcher 2- So far from what I understand you just need to collect 8 Hair of Tau, 5 Ogre Power Potions and 2 of an item I don't know

Can anyone tell me what that item is?

It dosn't, this information is in the second post of the thread.

Your stress will be refilled at a certain point in time each day, once its gone however, its gone until then.

I'm updating my progress on Battle Mage as of now, so heres the record:

You'll be talking to your skill NPC for all of these.

Battle Mage 1-

Achieve either 70% Style/Technic, I'm not sure which one, either is easy, not sure if theres any map requirements, I did it on a easy map in the 1x's.

Battle Mage 2-

Achieve an A ranking on a map, again I'm not sure if theres any details, I passed it my first try just getting an A on a random map in the level 1x's.

Battle Mage 3-

Defeat Sky Castle boss Armon (the mage type boss, who casts the earth spike spells and floats) within 6 minutes and 30 seconds. Pretty easy with a party, but if you have just barely hit 18 you might have trouble doing it alone.

Battle Mage 4-

Defeat the Zombie map, alone, on expert. Boy I'm gonna have fun with this one NO I'M NOT!

At Ashu, You need two of those MP healing things that heals 55. Looks like a leaf.
At the Fael,
You need to go to the zombie place and do it on expert and beat it by yourself.
Enkido, You need to wait a day to refill the Stress gauge.

If you guys wait a while my friend figured out the launcher quests last night I'm sure he'd be glad to put up a small guide. He gets off work in about 4 hours.

Well, Here is a small guide on how to become Elemental master.


Elemental Master 1: Just complete the first map on the left side the one with the bull. I think it is level 3-7. Just run to the boss and kill him as fast as you can.

Elemental Master 2: This one is a bit annoying since you need a quest
to get the ice Princess map and the only way i did it was because
someone i know already had it. Again just run to the boss and kill it
if you have those little snowball spells and the Pumpkin spell just trap
her in a corner and spam it like there is no tommorrow.


Elemental Master 3: Unlike what Oni said where i need to fight dark lighting guy which there is none of. I got a friend of mine to get me into the
dark zombie map, then i got 2 more to help me finish the map. I don't care what anyone says this map is IMPOSSIBLE to solo, even on the easiest setting, unless you are insanely high level, and it is even more impossible on expert. So get your buddies, make a beeline to the boss and beat him. You will get item and part 3 is done.


Elemental master 4: God, this one was annoying. Unlike making a beeline
to the boss i think you need to clear EVERY room, since i made a beeline to
boss the first time and got nothing. This is what i did. I picked the fire fairy
map the one which is 13-17 "i think" the upper left map. The one right next to the bull. Here is the annoying part. Complete the entire map by yourself on the easiest setting. I got lucky i found plenty of heal/mp fairy's and with
my hefty mana regen spell i cleared the entire map pretty quickly. Once
you get to the boss clear the room and try to get into a angle with her between pillars so she is stuck in 1 place and those meteorites can't hit you.
Then just spam the little homing snowballs till your finger bleeds.

Now go back to the mage trainer and walla. Congratulations you have officially
become something every pvp player loathes :D

At the Fael,
You need to go to the zombie place and do it on expert and beat it by yourself.

OK, now I know why I see no battle mages.

To Klow,
On the 3rd Elemental Master quest,

Striker quest 1: This one if I can remember correctly was 70% style or Technic on any map. Not hard when you have Ash in the party AM I RITE?

Striker quest 2: This one was the same as the first quest, but I think you have to be on a certain map. We loved killing that bull on the easy maps. Most of my quests were attained from doing this map or the fire queen.

Striker quest 3: This map was collecting 7 quest items. I am still not sure what I had when I completed this quest because I was an idiot and didn't screen them, but I do remember I completed it during the bull map.

Striker quest 4: Final quest which I have just found out for myself, complete the Mage type monster on expert mode. This is the map over the dragon boss on the Sky castle stage.

How the christ is dark thunder land "go kill zombie map" it does not compute
#1 the zombie does not cast thunder he freezes you if you get close.
#2 Where the christ in this map do you get lighting NOTHING in the map is lighting

If you want credit please be more specific cause not 1 person i know came
to the conclusion that dark thunder land = zombie.

Also i would like to add if you can do the zombie map on expert with MAGE at level 18 please make a movie of it i would love to see you do that.

Hey guy, relax a little bit. If not for Oni and Benny I wouldn't have figured out what to do. We're here to help each other, as the point of this thread is not who contributes the most, it's about whatever is contributed.

I'm going to take some of the guides we have so far and slip them into the first post for new comers that may have repeat questions.

Xerus: I'm sure there's someone on these forums that can help you with registering for an account, as far as KSSNs go, you're on your own.

Fael, do you have any idea how many map's are dark?
Do you also know how many maps could have thunder ?
I can tell there is more than 1 that's for sure and none of them point to zombie ok i give him the "Dark" part but thats about it. That's like him telling

Well, this is not going anywhere. If you feel that Oni is doing everything he can to help us so be it. But from what i seen in this thread it does not seem that way.

Maybe you need to solo zombie in king's road by yourself :)

I'm now a battle mage, the quest itself is insanely hard but I cheated.

Me, Clacks, and Ash went to zombies on expert, we all basically died at the boss of course, so Clacks ressurected me, then they both logged out, I continued to fight the boss alone and won.

If your party members log out before you complete the map, it counts as doing it yourself, YAY FOR BEING SNEAKY.

here's full info:

Launcher 1: Get quest from gunner skill npc, talk to old man with glasses in the screen to the south, quest 1 complete

Launcher 2: Collect 8 Hair of Tau (from the biggest size minotaurs, like the boss in the 3-5 map), 5 Ogre Power Potions (from the above NPC, make them with a scroll, or find them in Sky Castle maps), and 2 Lamihwa Leafs(?) the plants that heal 55 MP, you'd probably have a few of them already. Take the items back and quest 2 is complete

Launcher 3: Return to the gunner npc and talk to her, Quest 3 complete, enjoy the giant gun on your back!

One of your very first gold quests involve saving her. Go back to the forest, talk to the blacksmith, get the gold quest, and go to the beginner map (where the boss is a rock throwing goblin) but don't go straight to the boss, look around the map to find that npc locked in a cage. Kill all the goblins and then break the cage, you rescue her, finish the map and then go back to your tree home and talk to her. Quest complete.

Another nub question, do treasure chests ever drop anything? Cause it seems they're all empty..

Yes they drop.
But it won't drop that much.
But if you kill champions, Monsters with auras, you get more chance of getting a item.

White - Normal Item
Blue - Improved item
Green - Set Item
Purple - unique Item
Pink - Very rare item.

you have to sign in from the site, make sure you are using IE ;3

You have to turn on Korean Unicode in regional settings.

You need to download a Korean IME, just google it and that should do it.

Say are any of the common skills worth a damn? The high jump one tends to be useful, and Back Attack and Critical Hit are pretty self explanatory, but what about Great Willpower and that one with the eye icon, Mystic Power or something like that. Those any good?

The eye icon is mostly for mages or magic users,

Such as Nen master, Spitfire, Soul bringer, Elemental master, Launcher.

The high jump is only for Ghost knight class, Gunner/Fighter/Mages don't need 'em. People don't use willpower nor mystic power.

Critical Hit all the way up.
Don't know about back attack but if you want you can.

Just posting again in hopes that someone will help me figure out what items are needed for weapon master quest.

7. Add korean
- Also add the Korean input system (IME 2000)

Many times we lag like crazy but we still manage to get along. The lag hell breaks loose when Ashu and I are in a party.

yo, dont worry about it so much. its not you can tell between english and korean. cause about 98% of the time, the people with english talk korean for some reason.

For people asking others to make their chars and shit, most people won't do it because if something goes wrong in your account like a deleted character or "missing money" guess who will probably get blamed first? ok , guys for the people that need korean language pack (comes with IME) for windows xp or 2000, because if you cant find ur cd your pretty screwed (especialy 2000) so do this, go to your CONTROL PANEL and regional options and check the Korean language , it will ask you for the files you need, write down the name of the 1st file, then skip that file, write the 2nd, and just post it here and I will get you the files, thats how I installed mine sence I couldnt find my 2000 cd, had to use a xp cd and rename alot of files to get it working.

For people asking others to make their chars and shit, most people won't do it because if something goes wrong in your account like a deleted character or "missing money" guess who will probably get blamed first? Don't misunderstand that people do want to help just things like that usually lead to trouble =\

It's been posted many times before and not to sound rude or anything but come on try to put a little effort into finding answers to these problems because most have already been answered earlier in this thread or archived threads. It kind of sucks for the people who actually need help with unanswered questions when they have to surf through this 19 page thread half filled with the same problems that have been explained over and over.

Well ive had the problem of not being able to Type anything into the character text bar. Others have had the same problems and Other people told THEM to get a Korean IME. So i decided to get it too. Well i needed office (which took about 2 hours to download) and all that good stuf.. Got the IME, then i was stuck and couldn't find out what to do... so i explored the language bar and saw this button that said "Allow to use on all Programs" it took me a good hour to find that damn button.

Weapon Master is mostly a combo type samurai type class.
They don't really have cool skills like others but they still get to wear the light saber.

I like 'em. At level 30 or 35 you get there using one clear cube skill.

Is that the only class that can use a light saber? I found one on a map and I'm eager to use it but it looks like I need to be a certain class but I don't know which one.

how do i make a shop/vend? is it only allowed to Cash-Holding Koreans?

And the continue coins, is cash item too, You just get one each day. After you use that coin.

what do i need to do for the weapon master quest?

talk to the dude with bald head by the gramps who sells armors.
then go to the one who wear weird glasses, the person where you can make cubes with weapons and armor etc.
then get 1 청동건틀릿 3 은괴 and forgot the cubes. It's white one and the purple or red ones. After that talk to the scientist dude again and he makes that thing for you and talk to the bald head once more and yeah finished.

Hey, guys. I just started playing this game, and was wondering if anyone could help with something.

In game, the font is a bit screwy. Namely, the English characters are nearly impossible to make out, which is too bad, because I don't know any Korean.

Does anyone know how to fix that? I think I remember having a similair problem with another Korean game, long ago.

Is there any way at all to get avatar customizing equipment without paying real cash?

Although it's still in Korean, you can use a machine translation to kinda figure out the requirements for some of them.

It would be really cool if someone would make a quest guide, listed by NPC or something, but that's probably asking too much.

Set your region to Korean and that'll solve the squished text problem.

Oh, this is probably a dumb question, but can anyone tell me what the different things on the Results screen are, after you complete a stage?

I'm having trouble getting B+ ranks in the stages, and I'm not quite sure what I need to do to improve my rank. Namely, that first number that's XXX/120 or so, I can usually only get 50-60 on it. What is that?

And what's a good way to get higher technique points? Combos are easy enough.

Wow Suzaku thanks for the site, it has EVERYTHING and it is easily babelfished. This definetly makes DF easier since every quest is easily listed and they only tell you the exact objective/item needed so you dont have to look through all the other korean crap to find what you need.

The job quest part is the nicest, everything laid out so simple and nice i love you Suza

Oh yeah, the easiest way I found to get SSS ranks and shit are just to have 2 ghost swords in your group since you can combo the fuck out of the same enemies and just rack up insane points.


Also what server are you on Suza? I think most people play Shapeshifter, but with the new server giving 2x exp and money for a week it seems kind of tempting to play there.

cuz i checked all the servers and there seems to be no change in the EXP gain (currently). is this 2x EXP gain at a specific time or sumthin?

And it only gives x3 the drops till... uh.. forgot ^_^;;

For the people who dont know about ending stats.

Techinque is from back stab or overkill usually. Also combo.

Arial is skill, also a combo of 6-7 hits usually gives you skill points to.

For the grades at the end.
The most you can get is 3 SSS which u get a weapon or Armor.
SS = Weapon or armor just as before but less worth
S = Weapon or Armor but less then SS worth
A = Weapon or Armor not so good as S but is ok
B = usualy just a item
C = usually just a item
E = usually just a item
F = usualy a item

You can get more combos by doing back stab alot for techinque, or doing aerial kick or shooting them up in the air. But usualy to get a triple S you need to get a weak weapon, or go against strong monsters. So you can combo and tech hit alot.

Gun = usually easiest for highest grade. Mage and Monk are a bit harder.
