Cmon! There is gold selling, powerleveling services and advertising everywhere. I really think you need some more mods here.

Which sections need it most?
When you post a suggestion like this, you need to be more specific. Otherwise... We can't do anything.

Its just everywhere espicially now, People spam and advertise on this site because they know they can, takes sometimes a long while for the mods to remove it. Look right now every forum is spammed with "the best 15 advertising service on the net"

Which is now cleaned up.
The only way we can have a mod active 24/7 is to let everyone be a mod. But that would screw us over.
There are going to be such posts up for a bit, yes, thats just how things are. To help the clean-up, report the posts and the mods will be e-mailed about the topic.

It seems Guild Wars, WoW, FFXI, MapleStory, and RO are the big 5 that get the most targetted advertising. Though half of the time, the ads will be in completely unrelated areas... like there'll be a FFXI gil ad in the FREE MMORPG section, even though FFXI isn't free at all.

I dont think there are Mods working on the new sections like Space Cowboy and Warrock.

other then the mods who are operating every section, like 2-3 mods, I don't see any forum leaders working on most of those sections. (Sco, Warrock)

I agree, some people keep posting advertisement and even private servers which are not even allowed. We keep telling them but they dont listen lol or read rules. I agree that we need a few more active moderators.

I agree. We do need a few more mods. Not many. A lot of moderators here are good but moderate in many different forums. So we need just a few mods to watch over some of the forums while the other mods are "making their rounds".

whats the point in having more moderators if all of them are lazy asses. no offence to anybody.

lol.
I do have a question for all of you. I did post a large topic about this through out the moderation section. Do you feel it is important to have a moderation team active in both the community and doing there job, or just a moderation team that does there job?
I personally believe a moderation team should be both active and do there job but I would like to hear your oppinions here.
Also you are right KK those sections don't have mods, and we have told the admins many times about this.
Also the FFXI section I moderate and I am usually able to get the bad posts there done pretty fast.

lol a code to disable all links. and if people ask for a link to a game. tell them to google it.

Well that would really hurt us kevin. Our main idea is to get a mod (modification) so that if you have less then 10 posts you cannot post links.

Lothia, I agree. A moderation team should be comprised of people who are both active within the community while at the same time are able to and are doing their assigned duties.

Free MMORPG Request could use at least one more active mod. Here's one of those buy currency for you MMO threads that has gone to 3 pgs: http://www.onrpg.com/boards/find-yours-here-always-best-u-2393-3/

The thing is... By being an active member of the community, you should already be at work anyways... There really is no difference if you are active or "only doing your job". So being active would be the best choice...

A lot of the mods are not very active or they don't look around... I usually go to "New Posts" and check all the new posts, I find a lot with "Rule Braking" content  . Maybe we don't need more mods but a better way for them to find bad posts.

No.. It's not that we need more moderators.
What I think we need, are moderators from different time-zones.
You can't moderate when you're alseep, and it could reduce the time it takes for a certain topic to be locked.

We can't all be mods, so there should be mods from different timezones.

i pretty much only wanted the maplestory section to moderate so i can be very active and purely dedicate myself to cleaning out the crap
we are also getting a mod to prevent people signup with proxies..hence stopping those ingame currency spammers signing up again

I'd rather post the problem and the 1st mod that sees it can take care of it, I don't want to look around for a mod who is online and message him and than hope he checks his inbox  .

and why would that make sense? may I remind you mods do not have power in all sections which means the only thing we can do is report the thread...We are not anyones bitches, we do not get paid, therefore the members should take responsibility as well.

On the bottom left of every post that's not yours there's a little triangular sign (it's in the spot that the scale representing Reputation are on any of your own posts). Click that. It reports the post so that any mod who happens to be around can take care of the post. You don't have to specifically look for mods online and send them a message. When people say report they are referring literally to the reporting system, which basically consists of clicking on that little sign.

Seriously, mods. Check every section.
We have something called lives.
Do you have any idea of how much time it will take to cheack every section, clean out the bad topics in all of them, and post to what ever posts you want to?
That is about 2-3 hours of work, but heres the real kicker.
Once you have gone through it all, another guy has posted some scam or something, and you are going to have to go through it all AGAIN.
I spend often about 30-60 min on the forums at one time.
I go through the sections I'm responsible, and take a quick scan at the last post of each section.
That alone will take an average 15-30 min.

Did you guys see the MU online section on here lately?
P-servers everywhere!

So that's what...72 moderators? Sorry. Absolutely unnecessary.
I think a lot of you people are overreacting. You're only berating the moderators now because you don't know what it would be like without them. Their work is not always so obvious and a lot of them are very active.

I probably spend over 2 hrs a day on onRPG (I quit playing games so I've replaced that tmie here) recently the General forum has been overflowed by the I hate Saint account creator guy that got banned a few days ago but that's all been taken care of by Manic and Noah. I think the MMORPG Request could use another mod and General but those are the only boards I actually go to anyway.

we need good mods
What in the world are you talking about?
We have great mods, with the exception of a few =X, it's just that they DO have other stuff to do, and that their lives aren't revolved around OnRPG...-_-

I don't think 3 mods from each time zone is a good idea. Thats way to many mods. Also you may have forgotten that not all mods moderate every section. Most of them are assigned to just a few sections.

Have you noticed that some mods live at different places and continents? That makes things easier.
If you're PST, and browse forums from 5pm to 12am (Doing other crap between the time, I don't mean non-stop browse for 7hours)... Then other mods are sleeping. When that mod from the PST time sleeps, the other ones do their job.
It's like, taking a role on a time. So we have just enough mods. We don't need anymore. And if YOU see advertisements on the other sections (I'm thinking MapleStory?) Report it to a mod that is awake or active from a contact. (MSN, AIM, Etc.). So that's all I have to say...
(Oh crud is this called 'don't post on a very old topic'? Because this topic was only 4 topics away from the newest post in this section, sorry bout that).
