I just started WoW, and have palyed Guild Wars before. Played GW on a friend's account that he let me borrow. I can't tell too much, but some obvious things for me...

WoW vs. Guild Wars...

Questing...
GW: Sure, GW has tons of quests, but sometimes there where too many. At times I wanted to just fight because I was bored, but then I would just be even more bored and quit... The fact that you really only level on quests can get boring... Start too many, you get overwhelmed and don't want to play anymore. Don't start enough, and it slows down a lot... Maybe too much, and you feel like it is boring and you want to hurry up and get to the next one. I didn't like it...

WoW: There are still LOTS of quests. But you have the option to grind. On the right monsters, it is actually decent. Then again, I am low leveled and can't tell, but there is still the bareable option... So you can do quest over many zones and loop around and complete all these quests and level up and get rewards and junk. All fun and stuff. But sometimes the quests are hard, and you don't want to leave it because the world is huge and it takes forever to run back you know since the world is huge... Still, pretty fun.

I like WoW questing better even though that is what GW is all about. I like questing to be an option, not the only option.

Grinding...
GW: Do I have to say it? The grinding is the quests... You know what I think about it...

WoW: Still an option, but not advised. I have heard people say that actually prefer to grind since it isn't terrible, but it isn't too easy... Then people prefer quests. All a matter of opinion.

Who would like GW grind..? No one... WoW wins that for me, too...

PvP...
I haven't really gotten into PvP in either of these games. Never hit 20 in GQ because of questing issues and boredom. Haven't gotten too high in WoW yet, which I am currently working on.

Community..?
GW: Well, it wasn't a big factor for me. I only did quests with other players a few times, but it was cool. The community was nice, but sometimes I didn't get answers and no one really talks to eachother unless they join a party from a list, know eachother IRL, or are in a Guild together... No real, "Hi, want to be friends?" type of stuff...

WoW: I have random people come up and invite to group and say "Want to go questing" all the time. People say the community is bad, but that isn't true from my experience. I play on a Low Population RP Realm, so that might have something to do with it... But only a few people have been mean or stupid, and they where just playing. Me and my guildies mess around all the time, but SOME people take it to literally... Most of the time, people are just joking, not trying to hurt anyone or anything. And people see them joking and mistake it for cruelty and say WoW has a bad community... So, yeah...

I am kind of at a dead end here. The communties are different, but they are both good in different ways. WoW being mislabeled, and GW being kind of quiet, but nice if you know people... Tie here...

Music...
GW: Didn't really notice the music. Therefore, I don't remember. Don't have it on my computer anymore, but it didn't make me want to listen. Just seemed like I was playing a game, and no music.

WoW: I absolutely love WoW music. It is my second favorite music for something besides the Pirates movies. I absolutely adore it. But I get creeped out easily, and that is how good it is. I love it...

WoW wins that...

Gameplay Overall...

That is kind of everything together. I love WoW, and not to be a fanboy or anything, but I like it better. And just because someone likes one game and not the other doesn't mean they are a fanboy... So, no, I am not a fanboy. I just think WoW is a better game. If you disagree..? Ok, don't tell everyone. Just go play whatever you like best and don't try to start a debate about it...

I have played WOW since day 1 and just like any other mmo you will tire of it. It has great gameplay ,easy to learn professions and decent pvp. Unfortunately I stopped playing shortly after the BC was released due to the fact that they made alot of the previous end game content obsolete, along with all the gears. Also it has become alot like Diablo in the sense that you are always just doing dungeon runs for good gears. Not to mention the snobby community that has sprouted up in the past year. You really have to ask yourself do you want to pay for all this. Do the trial.

Guild Wars is fun, easy to play and free to play, with much better pvp than WOW. It doesn't have that Blizzard polish to it, but it also isn't a gear based game really. My recommendation...neither!

With Conan, Warhammer, Lord of the rings, DOMO, and lots of other cool rpg's coming soon , plus plenty of great ones to play for free I suggest waiting and seeing what's on the horizon before giving anyone your cash.

OFC i can do that toXD oh concurention and believe me wow is good... i like wow more then other mmorpgs because

-alot of fighting skills (evry class has his special things ALOT OF THINGS)
-cooking,first aid, fishing as secondary trading skill
-you can also pick two of these (you can always change these later)
Alchemy | Blacksmithing | Enchanting | Engineering | Herbalism | Jewelcrafting | Leatherworking | Mining | Skinning | Tailoring

-you have to work together for groop quests
-you can slays a boss with 40 people
-you can quest true all of the 70 lvls without having to grind

Guild Wars is nice because once you leave a town you get your own personal "copy" of the map. So no stealing kills and what not, but that was also what I hated most about the game: you can't see other people outside of towns and outposts! Long ass loading times too!

World of Warcraft is nice because its a very sociable game. There is always somebody to play with. Hardly ever have to go through loading times, and if you do, they're short.

This probably isn't a big deal to many people, but guild wars has one of the ugliest interfaces I have ever seen. After being a huge WoW hater and GW lover and switching over to WoW, and occasionally playing GW, I saw how much easier the WoW interface is to use then GW's. Not to mention it looks a lot better.

PvP - I personally never got into Guild Wars PvP too much. Not very "noob" friendly, so if you don't know what the hell you're doing... you're getting your ass raped - hard core.

I enjoyed World of Warcrafts PvP so much more. You can go in there and still get something out of it even if you lose. It's pretty noob friendly too, because if you don't win you still walk away with honor and a mark of honor.

Overall, World of Warcraft is a much better game. More content, which alone should be a winner considering its a mmorpg. The $15 is well worth it.

which ever game you decide to play - Good Luck, Have Fun, Make Babies! ^_^
