What's wrong with Clamp's art? If you don't like it, you must hate the artwork of about 80% of all the anime out there. Clamp do some of the best artwork out there, there are ALOT worse. Clamp's artwork is crisp and clear, alot better than artwork from animes like Bleach and Naruto.
One of the reasons people FIRST started watching Code Geass when it first came out and was unknown was the fact that Clamp played a role in making the characters which was a big-turn on for ALOT of people.
Besides, don't judge something just from artwork, do you judge mmorpgs from just the graphics? Well, YOU probably do.....
Code Geass is full of twists and has a pretty deep plot, a must watch for ANY anime fan.

What's wrong with Clamp's art?
I find it unpleasant to look at. Is it so difficult to accept an opinion?
If you don't like it, you must hate the artwork of about 80% of all the anime out there.
Of course, how could I have forgotten that CLAMP produced %80 of the anime out there.
Clamp do some of the best artwork out there,
It's all in the eye of the beholder.
there are ALOT worse.
Obviously.
Clamp's artwork is crisp and clear, alot better than artwork from animes like Bleach and Naruto.
Who said that it wasn't?
(Oh, and I hate the art in Bleach and Naruto. All the people in Bleach look terrible. Naruto was alright for the first few seasons, when they actually spent time on it, but then they got to those fillers and just started throwing it together.)
One of the reasons people FIRST started watching Code Geass when it first came out and was unknown was the fact that Clamp played a role in making the characters which was a big-turn on for ALOT of people.
What is that relevant to?
Besides, don't judge something just from artwork, do you judge mmorpgs from just the graphics? Well, YOU probably do.....
Yes, lets make stupid judgmental statements about people we don't even know. Thats a good way to get a point across.
For your information, the MMORPGs I play are mostly 2D (Tibia, Illutia, Wish Realm, some PW/Eclipse games). The only game with decent graphics that I play is GW. In a game, the graphics mean nothing to me. But in a show, if looking at it just bothers the crap out of me, I see no reason to watch it.
I am, after all, watching it for my own enjoyment. I'm sorry if thats not how the rest of the anime community handles things.

lmao its alright if it gives u eye sores....any series always has its flaws....except Dragon Ball.....that was awesome!
no not dragon ball Z or GT where the power levels were exaggerated ( or over 9000!) just the original!
I personally dislike all the ecchi in the show. sorta ruins the plot a bit.
but i guess most people like it..... a lot
btw one episode is breifly NSFW cus of slight nudity

I never said that, what I'm implying is that about 80% of the anime out there have worse artwork than Clamp's. There are thousands of animes, many of them have really bad artwork.

Ok, that I just don't understand. How can you play mmorpgs with "bad" graphics like those but not be able to watch animes that have "bad" artwork? I just can't comprehend that.....it makes no sense to me.....

You should give everything a try then, even if the artwork is really bad, atleast watch one episode and see what you think. You never know, you might suddenly change your mind about the artwork and start liking it or something will hook you on.

Atleast word it better then, instead of saying its horrible, just say you dislike the artwork or provide some reasons as to why you think its horrible.

Samurai Champloo probably has my favorite. GITS:SAC, FLCL and FMA also have some good stuff.

Its just "iffy" for me. I hate the fact that all the boys look like girls, that they are disproportionate (even for anime, which is saying something), and how they look altogether. Its not really the backgrounds I am concerned with, more the people.

Are you kidding? Have you not seen 132-134? Jesus Christ. Easily one of the best animated fight scenes I've ever seen. Well, next to the LFO/ KLF fights in Eureka Seven (near the end).

I see, so your a fan of the darker, more realistic artwork in anime, well, that explains ALOT.....shoulda just said that in the first place.

I'm talking about artwork here, not how good a fight scene is >_>, no matter how good a fight scene is, it does NOT make the artwork better....
AND, in my opinion, that fight in Naruto wasn't anything special, a bit below average in my opinion (reminded me of a "certain" anime with overpowered stretched out fight scenes....).

Artwork in that fight scene was well above what the CLAMP ladies do, that's why I mentioned it. It captured real-life physics almost perfectly (almost perfectly because the element of fiction draws away from it).
And I've seen almost every DBZ episode. Up until the end of Dragon Ball GT (didn't bother with AF). None of the fight scenes resemble that fight at all. You're just exaggerating to prove a point. Apart from the scenery in those CLAMP shows, the character and beast art blows. Tremendously. But that's just me.

Isn't that nearly all "action" animes? Look at Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, etc.....all little kids killing/beating everyone. And, I wouldn't call the main character in Code Geass a little kid.

No, I wasn't exaggerating, the fight between Naruto and Sasuke is known as the turning point in Naruto where it started becoming more and more like DBZ. There is no way that fight was anywhere near capturing real-life physics. Please tell me how it captured real-life physics.....
That fight actually killed the series for me, my interest in Naruto started dropping rapidly after that fight. I'm sure your exaggerating to prove a point that that fight scene was "awesome".
The artwork in that scene was basically the same as all of the other artwork in Naruto. How is it any different?
Note: on the topic of Clamp, they didn't even do any of the artwork for Code Geass, all they did was make the character designs, even then, the characters went through total change. There is nothing in Code Geass that resemble Clamp's work besides the characters slightly.

Physics? Something as simple as Naruto's jacket flapping in the air. Some more examples would be his hair drooping down completely when he'd climbed up from the water, the waves emanating from his feet as energy was forced through the water (just like it would if there was a small underwater earthquake). That all has to do with physics, and Naruto had a completely refined art style, and a boosted frame rate to show that off. If you don't believe that there was a change, then maybe you should revisit 132-134, and then watch the series over. Even the very coloring changed.
You're literally the only person that complained that it was the changing point. I'm pretty sure people noticed way before then that it would be just like DBZ when Rock Lee starting moving so fast that lines occurred in his place.

Not really a flame war. More like a heated debate about art styles. Seems like we're not entitled to like other art styles over the Code Geass art style. I might as well kill it and be done.

well in conclusion all anime's are good, there is no better or worse, It's all a matter of opinion, I aggree that the fight scenes in Eureka 7 are better. But what i didn't like about it is ...er....i dunno how to say this, during the middle of the show when all the characters "Changed" from badass freedom fighters to....wtf? a mom and a girl who looks like a boy? the leader is now a parent and gets mad at everything??? for me, the series was over by episode 30 when the mechs' powers were not as exagerated
then again all mech anime's tend to do that
if there is one anime where action fuses wonderfully with story- I'd be Darker Than Black -made by BONES-made eureka 7

You ended it at Helter Skelter? Or did you continue on? The show is about changes. So the characters changing the way they did isn't a surprise.
And Champloo does a pretty good job of that. Keeps it short and sweet.

I see, have to admit I didn't notice that. Or perhaps I had forgotten since the last time I saw those episodes was a couple years back. But since they use physics such as those in that episode, wouldn't it be used in ALL episodes? Sure, the color changed but the basic "outline" of the characters and artwork stayed the same.
You're literally the only person that complained that it was the changing point. I'm pretty sure people noticed way before then that it would be just like DBZ when Rock Lee starting moving so fast that lines occurred in his place.

The exact date hasn't been announced yet but its supposedly sometime in July that last two episodes are to be aired. The beginning of the second season is suppose to come right after the last two episodes are aired.
