Since ragnarok went from 2-D to a 3-D game could maple do the same?

Wouldn't it be great if Maplestory had a maplestory 2 and became 3-D with an actual plot and replaced this version with it. It would look just like the video trailers when I first saw maplestory. You know the videos where the 2 newbies get carried off by a balrog and the 4 jobs go and fight it.

I wouldn't mind if it went p2p I would just hope that you could buy a CD from a store or order one online or my mom would say yes to using her credit card to buy it :P. ( wouldn't want to play monthly though O.o ) It could be like lunia's fighting program so there would be no click and attack and a target button that can switch though targets for attacks like lucky seven and magic claw

Well just take a look at Ragnorak,and then look at Ragnorak 2.

Is it a sucess soo far I believe.So maybe if nexon were to make that leap to something new and refreshing to
Maple story.It could work.

No offense, but MapleStory just would NOT work in 3-D. I've been playing since Beta over 2 years ago, so I know this game inside out. A 3-D MS would pretty much change the entire game. MS is known for it's uniqueness... being 3-D instead of a 2-D sidescroller would take away from the game-play.

I pretty much know the answer to this. The reason people like side scrolling games better then all those 3d games out there is because it has simple controls and it isn't as repetitive as 3d games.

Maplestory everytime you get a new skill you press a new button and you barely have to click. Which is why it does better then most 3D games out today.

So what I'm trying to say is maplestory being a click to attack game would be gay and would make the game SUPER repetitive.

The day a game comes out for PS3 that is like any other mmorpg out today. Is the day PC MMO's fail. Why? Because who doesn't enjoy pressing square and O all day and fighting hordes of monsters with your parties.

Besides, RO1 is mostly 3D. Only the Players and NPC are 2D Sprites, the rest is 3D.

I dont think it would make sense to go 3D, but maybe they could increase the resolution of the sprites and make the overall look of the game more detailed.

But rarely do MMORPGs get sequels anyway. It takes years and years of adding content to a single game. They would normally just make a new game entirely.

If Maplestorys developers wanted to go out of business they would make it 3D. The whole charm of Maplestory is its 2D and side scrolling, if it were 3D it would just be another 3D grind (But more grind.)

They could make it 3D side scrolling, like Ultimate Ghosts'N Goblins PSP (http://www.gamekult.com/images/J000075735/), it looks great and the animations appear "smoother"(sp?) than good ol' 2D.

They could possibly lose many players due to it being 3D because majority doesn't have great computers.

If runescap went 3-D it would be friggin hit!!!!( I mean good 3-D >_>)

yes ludix looks very bad. chaos gem has amazing graphics but i heard its pretty grindy and slow paced, elsword looks pretty fine >_<;; you require
good timing for that though xD

Maplestory in 3d? It will never happen. I doubt it.

Then archers and mages would play it as an FPS and aim their spells/skills like oblivion, and warriors and thiefs would play like an action rpg? Too much work. Even if they managed to transition, it would just be the same old grind, except in 3D.

err.. raiyne, are you talking about wonderking? just incase you didn't know the arrows and shurikens in maplestory curves a little to hit the monster >_>;; in wonderking if you jump attack it misses 100% it just goes straight

Yeah I agree, I would p2p that for sure. They need to merge Oblivion with Runescape. Though, tone it down some because oblivion nearly kills my computer.

Why not taking an upgraded version of Morrowind engine instead?Oh,well.Let's keep dreamin'..

Latale? I played that and it was 2D. o_O Even if the engine was 3D the game was 2D.

And yeah, I forgot about Morrowind, that would work better but a bit more polished up. (Like you said; upgraded)

yes exactly >.> ppl keep thinking the worst in 3-d. It doesn't have to be a clicking game jeez and there are games with good veiws like nostale :( it would be so cool if it were like nostale
