Sorry, I know this is Free MMORPG Request, but I don't want to post this in the General section or Free MMORPG section.

I am currently playing WoW, and I pay $20 online to upgrade. Going to wait until my 30 days free runs out then see if I REALLY want to pay for it every month. But if I don't which P2P game should I play?

I'm tired of the F2P market of games, and they are all just the same to me. Some P2P games I was looking at are...

FFXI
Lord of the Rings Online
RuneScape (Members is fun with a friend, and my friend started paying again. Good game ^.^)

I don't know about LOTRO... Doesn't look as good, but I have always liked that setting and stuff.

So, what would you recommend? Or what do you suggest? I don't like Sci-Fi games, either. I like either Medieval or Fantasy type games. And no flames about me think about paying for RuneScape again!

So, which to you recommend of the three or what do you suggest? And I don't even know if I want to quit WoW, and tell me if there is a trial for a game you post or something so I can try it out. Thanks.

Dungeons and Dragons online is a great P2P game,in my opinion. The controls are fun and very action-paced,it has a great character creation step,so you an really craft your character an unique bofy, face, ect.Last time I play it had still many people playing in it,graphically the game's great lookin' and has cool weapons and armors as well.

It has a 10-day free tria,if you want to give it a try.Look on the site, very easy to find.

WoW is the industry leader for a reason, you dont like scifi so I dont see much of a choice. Trying DDO might be a decent idea. Also you could check out EQ2 its been improved greatly since launch but I dunno if it has a free trial Sony is a bunch of stingy bastages.

Otherwise WoW is the best, DDO and Guildwars offer alternatives and FFXI is great but agonizingly grindy so I'd stay away unless you dont mind forced grouping, no solo play and slow leveling.

Thanks for the help! I was going to try the DDO trial once, but the trial client is still big, and it has like 4 discs, doesn't it?

I actually have started to like grouping a lot since I started WoW. Sure, you can quest alone and stuff, but that gets boring, and it is more fun with friends to quest and do instances and junk.

I will try EQ2 because i've wanted to well... try it before. If I don't like it, I will try DDO, and like I said. I don't even know if I will need another game. So, I will decide weither or not to quit WoW at the payment time. Got to level 20 and combat is quicker and more fun when you can Dual-Wield. So, thanks for the help! I'll download EQ2 trial while I do other stuff and play WoW.

Well,I found DDO's download way faster than EQ2's,the client take about 3 hours to download, while EQ 2 took me more than 6 hours.

Well, the EQ2 trial is taking AGES to update... I might just stop it and leave EQ2 alone.

Did you mean DDO download as in the full game off the internet or the trial? Because the EQ2 trial was only like 80mb... I don't know. I REALLY want to try FFXI, and I don't know any other good P2P games to play... I just don't know...

you can try FFXI. It was a really good game when i played it, which was from launch and then for two years after that. I tried going back recently, but everyones high level or gone (i created a new char). FFXI REQUIRES a party to level from about lvl 12 onward, so, since there's not a lot of people left, it's tough going.

Then again, it could have just been my server, I dunno. Its a good game though.

Ok. The download is actually going at a good speed. Well, better than other games i've downloaded... At 15% and half-way done with file 1 out of 5. That EQ2 updater was going to take 30 hours or more. It only took me 24 or a little more to download WoW! Well, that isn't good or any better, but still... WoW took forever and I started it at noon and I started EQ2 thing at like 4... So, hell no...

Anyway, i'm download DDO and if I like it and quit WoW I might play it. I just REALLY wish there was a FFXI trial...

I'm in a similar state as you. I was thinking of maybe being a runescape member again, but I decided not to and I don't recommend you do either. I just finished playing free 30 days of wow and had a lot of fun with the expansion too. But the last 5ish days it got kind of boring and I realized it was pretty expensive, but now that I havent been able to play it for a month, I really want to play it again. XD. It is a very good game. DDO Looks pretty cool, tell me how the trial goes and I might give it a shot. And EQ2 I tried trial before but it would of taken days to update so I screwed that. FFXI Looks pretty cool but dosent sound to good but I MUST trial it before I buy anyway so :/ Another game Lineage 2 looks kinda neat but I heard its very grindy. Ill keep coming to this thread :D

Nice to know i'm not alone. I was also thinking about Anarchy Online since it is free until 2008. But I wish there was a trial for FFXI. And if there is one, I wish I knew about it! I have really taken a likeing to grouping, so I guess I would just try to find a populated server on FFXI if I play it.

DDO is at 41% right now. It is at a descent speed, flaking around between 65-75K/s... So, it will go past midnight, but I will just rest until then because I don't feel like playing games right now. I have heard good and bad things, but I need to try it first. Wish I could'a tried EQ2, but like me and you said it would have taken over a day...

So, i'll report back after I try DDO or whenever I get back on. So, thanks for the help so far.

AND PLEASE! If there is a trial for FFXI, TELL ME! :(

There's one,but a trial code can only be send by an actual player of FF XI,I think.

Omfg... Got DDO downloaded and was extracting files. I went to set up my trial account, and you need a freakin' credit card to just activate the trial account!!! It had all the stuff for the information and said you need a payment method to activate the 10 day trial! Fuck that! I don't have a credit card, nor to I want to deal with all of that just to use a trial account. -.-" That sucks...... I guess i'll just try Anarchy Online tomorrow or something.

Can't believe I wasted all that time getting DDO and I can't even use the trial. I wish I had a Buddy Key for FFXI. Should I just take the risk and get it anyway if I decide to quit WoW? I know it is a bad idea and there is a chance I won't like it, but I will read reviews and watch a lot of videos first...

So, any other suggestions? No LOTRO trial or anything? Thanks...
