I'm hoping you guys can help me out. As I said, I don't expect to find a game with all of these bullets in it, but some or most would do :)

--Involving story
--Little or no level-grinding
--Either a sci-fi or gothic setting - tired of hard-fantasy games >_>
--Deep character customization
--Trade skills (mining, gathering)/Professions
--Either a large number of classes or no classes at all
--Different races
--Lots of quests, or at least something to do other than level-up/pvp/getting the coolest armor

Graphics don't really matter to me. Be best if it was free, because I'm just looking for something casual at the moment.

Thanks in advance :D

hmm sounds nice... but I guess star wars galaxies pre NGE would have been great for you... too bad most games these days are getting prettier gear, grinding, and pvp.... you could look into World of warcraft or guildwars though.. as far as quality F2P games go..... eh there are few that aren't just a big grind.

You should give Anarchy Online a shot for sure. It hits most of your bullets except the grinding one because there are like 200 lvls or something.

Also you could check out the free trial of EVE its very very different from other MMO's in terms of gameplay either you will get and love it or you'll hate it. EVE is not f2p but there is a 2 week trial, although when your new its sort of weak because you can't afford/fly the cooler ships.

ide definately recommend eve online. i played the free trial and thought it was great.

theres no levelling as such, you choose a skill to train and then have to wait for the timer to run down before choosing the next one. so you dont have to sit around bashing goblins or whatever. the only repetitive aspect i saw in my short 2 weeks was mining and making money. that can get kinda dull although when i bought some new weapons for my tiny crappy ship it was pretty awesome chasing around other ships and blasting stuff.

eve is very refreshing for the standard mmo genre.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys :) I already have Guild Wars, and I absolutly love it; I was just looking for something new. I played Anarchy Online once before but not for an extended time; maybe I'll give it another shot. I'll try out EVE also, sounds like fun.
