Elfen Lied is an adult anime playing upon the idea of giving an artistic feeling of pleasure to the eyes that adults would enjoy. The nudity is just artistic and that is all.

Artistic nudity and pornographic nudity are two concepts that many people fail to notice a difference. There are many people out there that they both are the same thing (stupid FCC), when in fact they are not.

Actually, ecchi is comedy related to sexual behavior, such as a boy getting a nosebleed at the sudden sight of a nude woman. But yes, several ecchi contain nudity.

I wouldn't really know what to call the style of nudity in Elfen Lied other than Realism, the knowledge that reality is different from common TV/movie regulation.
