well i've spent months on another game which i am trying to forget but in wow how long would it take grinding from 1 to 40, i wanna do it fast for a mount/raids/pvp with friends etc., how long woul.d this take?

took me FOREVER cause i didnt play my char who is 40 untill 7 months after i made him :-/ (aliance is waiste of time)

you cant raid at 40 and pvp is same - horde wins all sept wsg

It really depends on how efficient you are in the game. It took me around 6 days of playtime my first time to get to level 40 because I was basically only exploring the entire time, while another character I've gotten to level 24 in 19 hours and to level 40 in 3 days. From 1-20, about a level an hour, then from 21-40, around 2 hours per level.
It also depends if you have any rest exp or if you have a great group and can complete quests incredibly quickly. Finally, certain classes are better at soloing than others, such as hunters and feral druids are great, while warriors aren't the best.

yea my first char to 40 its took a while. but my second guy imade i lvled double times as fast because i knew the game and i knew the quests

you can get to lvl 40 in 2 days /played, it's pretty easy imo

Any class takes a mininum time to level to around 18-20 as the enemies aren't doing as much damage/stunning you as often so they aren't a big threat. Also, most enemies around that level aren't hostile so won't attack you huge groups. Once you get to higher levels (such as 30 and above or so), unless you have a healer in your group, you are going to be slow leveling because of your downtime. You will need to sit down and eat food, or bandage up, almost after every two encounters, and you die often if you get swarmed by a massive amount of mobs. This is only two cents though. Warriors, however, are a very fun class, and great in PvP and PvE. Just make sure you can get a group while questing as it will lessen your downtime A LOT.

40, This is not going to take you a long time tbh.
Just follow a guide which is easily obtained at sites like mmowned.com
when you said grind i hope you did not just mean killing Mobs from 1-40, that would take forever you can do quests along the way that help you get 1-2 lvls per day maybe even 3 if your fast. So do not Grind, Quest instead.

I agree with Woot, 1-10 is manageble in 1hr sometimes less so 10-20 should be about triple that time which is 4hrs-ish gameplay
