britains got talent is another tedious and brain numbingly boring tv show following in the putrid footsteps of such abominations as fame academy, pop idol, grease is the word and all the rest of those trashy itv productions. god dammit i hate these programs with a passion.

also, that female judge who cries everytime that kid sings.... yeah i wanna smash her face in with a brick, stop crying you stupid idiot its just a six year old singing. if she was 26 she probably woulnt have even made it out of the first rounds.

why is tv so shit.

Ok ok.

i think she can sing regardless of her age, but i do think that her 2nd song wasn't that great.

He better have said that she passed. He would have lost his job and then got killed the next day. :hmm:

She is definitely very talented and given her age it's quite astonishing. The 2nd song needed better phrasing, but the pitch and all was still well done. Her rendition of rainbow honestly reminded me of a young Charlotte Church with the pitch and clarity.

The retarded pissing and moaning in this thread is rather amusing.

ROFL to the dem's man comment on the brick throwing and tv is shit :)

Of course dude.Havn't you ever watch MTV?It had basicly gone to shit now.I mean Music Television?Shiiiiittt....TRL was like the bomb back then and now it got lame along with other crapload of shows, and other that is really unrelated to music in any way.

Show like the X effect for example, either their really actors or actress, I don't know. But it does destroy relations for people just to get rating.

Sure it funny, but I think most of the people with hurt feeling get pretty much ignore afterward.

The little girl is indeed brave :)

I see a bright future for her if she can keep it up.

i like charlotte church alot better now that shes a loose boozy whore.I do like her personality a lot now, but the pop music she is doing is pure garbage. I miss her classical music. Her rendition of Ave Maria I consider one of the most powerful vocal performances of all time.

Nowadays I still have trouble deciding if I like Charlotte Church (Voice of an Angel era) or Tarja Turunen (Nightwish era) as the most beautiful sounding female vocalist.

the Britain's got talent show has way more people who have actual talent, compared to our American version.

yeah, she is just being used by her mum to get money. She has no talent, nothing special, quite alot of 6 year olds out there can sing well. But they cant say anything nasty to her because shes only 6 yeras old.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPBnpsHN4_4

that should have got past the semi finals instead of her.

Wow. Your kidding right? If you think using your head voice throughout the entire performance is the "best" vocals you have ever seen, then haven't seen many if any vocalist. Not once did she use her chest voice, and yes it may sound like the angelic voice you like, but there is no depth in it. Using Falsetto and head voice shows her inability to sing Chest voice.

I wouldn't be writing this is you just said "I think they are the best Opera singers"

Sorry, Ganix and Dead Eyes but i just dont agree with you on this one.

Basically:

1. I don't belive there are "quite alot of 6 year olds" who can sing as well as that girl.

2. I don't belive there are alot of 6 year old's who would have the nerve to go on stage and preform like that. Infact i dont belive there are alot of people, no matter what there age, in the world that wouldn't sh*t a brick before and while having to do anything as remotely public as that.

3. You can clearly see that she is enjoying entertaining people, so to come out with a statment like "her mum is forcing her to do this" is complete blah, seeing as most parents can't even "force" there children to eat healthy food, i find forcing a preformance that good out of a child quite un-beliveable.

4. The judges have to maintain there credibility above all else. Of course there not going to be nasty to her, but that doesnt mean they wouldn't let her down softly if she was crap.

Yes, but this is talent from Britain. Her talent would not represent Britain (hopefully, i dont live there)

I already said she is a very brave girl. Her voice will change within 2 years. Her voice as of now means nothing to how it will become when she is older. Puberty changes your voice completely, whether it enhances it, or it can unfortunately become worse. It's like a re-roll on vocals. What she might be born with is what they call "perfect pitch" where you can estimate a note and its value. So you may be able to carry a tune but your voice may actually stunt it.

I wouldn't be writing this is you just said "I think they are the best Opera singers"Ok, first and foremost you really need to identify exactly what it is you are bitching about and patronizing people about. This generalized tripe you typed above even with quotes doesn't clearly indicate your object or point.

Now, I am going to *assume* you are bitching about Charlotte Church and Tarja Turunen. Now whether you want to try and sound intelligent by throwing out Head Voice, Chest Voice, etc makes no difference. The simple fact is that whether they sing rock, opera, or whatever, they are still singers or vocalists. One persons vocal stylings may not fit your narrow view of ability, but it in no way defines that you are correct. As for your observation, Charlotte Church is a Mezzo Soprano singer (Many bill her as a Soprano but her head voice isn't quite strong enough... do some research before babbling next time) so your information is flawed. A Mezzo Soprano is strongest in their chest voice and weakest in their head voice. Yet, her technique is strong enough to overcome such natural weaknesses.

Now as for Tarja Turunen, she is billed as a Soprano, but her range is quite interesting. Listen to the Nightwish album Wishmaster and then her current solo stuff and you will see it can be quite different. She is both strong in her high's and relative low's. I would very much debate she is an accomplished Mezzo Soprano rather than her normal billing.

Now if you mean the little girl, then yes she is mostly using head voice/falsetto in her singing. Why? ... because while her technique is there, her vocal strength has not quite matured enough. However, her ability to articulate the actual music is quite well defined. As long as her vocal transitions in puberty go well, she will become a very powerful singer if her technique continues as it shows a lot of promise. Also, I don't think I ever said she was the best at anything. I do however think she did well and your desire to make her a whipping post is simply sad.

From a personal standpoint I do not differentiate between someone who sings different styles of music. Tone, phrasing, volume, timbre, etc are all utilized in various formats and it's the overall quality that makes the difference to me. If you disagree with me, then that is your prerogative, but next time don't come at me like a school kid spitting out chorus class gibberish with failed sentences.

Now if my choices have to be mainstream music such as country or rock for example, then I'll choose the following.

Female: Alisson Krauss (Alisson Krauss & Union Station, Solo, etc)
Male: Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave, etc)

Now argue back if you like, but I am moving on.
