Yeah! Ur hot, new, fresh, and ready to play a game that's been out for nearly 2 years, but you wanna try anyway cus of your friends. Sweet! Here's some pointers to those who are new, or to those who need it.

Ahead of time this guide is put together by me, on the spot-with research and experience-, not stolen from any website

furthermore NO FLAMMING! I honestly don't care how much mah guide could be wrong on tiny things, like spelling errors, or this and that which are, "newb-like". Don't care, at least i'm trying to help so STFU!>:(

Anyhow we begin!

Part 1: T3h Vagrant-basis-in no particular order, sry

First off, you need to know ur build.
By pressing the "H" key, your can see your stats in this fashion

str-15
sta-15
dex-15
int-15

Here is wut you need to worry about for the time being

str, sta, and dex.

A good start off build for the new version 7 patch, would be the str-dex build.
ratios of this are common in either 1:1 or 2:1, some would dare 3:1
This build requires you to not even touch ur vagrant skills ,so you can keep that beautiful for a later, or urgent time.

Or, if your confident u won't screw up in the future, or your going merc

go with the str-sta build, sharing the same ratios as the str-dex build.
This will ensure a solid defense, as well as a handful of FP to use skills with

oh yeah! FP and HP and MP
kinda self explanatory for HP and MP, but FP is energy that one needs to use physical skills with, it can be raises by either rings, ear rings, or necklaces.
the same for MP and HP
sta is crucial in almost every build because it also raises HP and Def.

Continuing

So you got ur builds down and, OH NOES! wuts this? ur walking instead of running? what do you do? just press the "X" key, many people have trouble with this, surprisingly, I've even seen some lvl 50 merc ask me wut he should do cus he's stuck walking, lvl 50....psssh n00bsauce

ok

So now its down to your weps and armor, each can be equipped or unequipped via drag-n-drop or by double clicking the item. Remember to look for lvls limits and such, and the more + on ur wep or armor, the better

Unless you have a lot of spare cash or you are falling behind the competetion, I highly suggest you NOT buy anything from the shops. the monsters usually drop the weps and armor a vagrant needs in high quantities. Many people are not even bothering to pick em up, so go nuts u little theif, u! *warning* this will not apply to you when u head to Saintmorning or any other places to fight monsters unless ur extremely lucky.

Wuts this? Never heard of Saintmorning?, how do you get there? its quite easy, IF you have either 1300 penya for round trip or 800 penya for a one-way blinkwink. A blinkwink? oh! that's simple. As you have probably noticed, or not, You have a little thing in ur inventory that looks like a jelly fish, that is a blinkwink. They can teleport you to Flaris, Saintmorning, Darkon, or back to a nearby town. As a vagrant, you start off with 5. To get more, you simply head over to East Flaris and proceed to the NPC with [Magic] above its head. This applies to all the other towns, but the [Magic] NPC's will not be in the same place so watch out!

the Towns are separated by levels of mobs, like so

Flaris 1-20
SM 19-around 45
Darkon - 60 - 100+

There is another island floating to the west of SaintMorning that people who have been around a while, like me, call "Death Island"...that's not its official name in the game, but that is something you don't need to worry about right now

Alright! So you are starting to attack! I would suggest you research ahead of time, into what quest items-which are items for quests that mobs drop- u need for your class change quest in order to get them while they are in the high drop rate zone for you! Back to attacking, you can attack a monster by simply double clicking on one or hold CTRL and click on one. Hmmmm? the right mouse button? oh yeah! that is for changing the camera angle! it can also be used to steer you while u fly.

oh, wuts this? food, money, the monster dropped something! you can either pick it up by clicking on it, or by doing the much faster "F3". why "f3"? because it is the starting place where the Pick up Item action should be held, btw you can use food, use skills, or use actions by draging and dropping their icons into the action bar located at the very bottom of your screen, the F"#" above each icon corresponds to the item you have placed under it.

Alright this ends part 1, why? cus i'm hungry and i need to eat a snack, so brb for part 2!

Alright! Part 2:

With an order now!
-Skills and skill bar
-Pots
-lvling tips
-upgrading
-how to chat-maybe some shorthands if my fingers are still attached
-common FAQ's

Skills

Alright! Skills baby!

First off you should have 3 skills as a vagrant
In part one, I suggested to you don't use, but if you must, then go for it, its dead useful for making your lvling faster

Clean Hit-lvl 3
Brandish -lvl5
Overcutter-lvl 10

OMG i'm lvl 5 and the skill won't put down into mah skill bar??? WTF???

don't worry, there is an action bar ( or skill bar wutever you wanna call it) to your bottom right corner of the screen, hey! the skill icons look like puzzle pieces! maybe you should put them.....together~! yeah! that's the spirit!

so it should either look like these two

http://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon03.gifhttp://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon02.gif
OR
http://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon03.gifhttp://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon02.gifhttp://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon02.gifhttp://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon02.gifhttp://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon02.gif

so, in order to use this you can drag that "S" at the begginning of the action bar into your skill bar. or you can just hit "C", it goes with your preference.

the same applies to you when u hit lvl 10, so ur bar could look like this

http://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon03.gifhttp://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon02.gifhttp://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon01.gif
http://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon03.gifhttp://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon02.gifhttp://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon02.gifhttp://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon02.gifhttp://flyff.gpotato.com/game_info/images/skill_icon01.gif

again, it goes with your preference!

Oh T3h noes!

you ran out of FP for your skills, wait! not only that but some of the icons to the right of the action bar are shaded, wut does this mean???
-FP, just go to the [General] NPC and get FP pots(potions) the same applies for MP
-for the action bar, the shaded skill icons are not longer usable, so u'll only perform the highlighted ones, the more u use the skill bar, the more shaded up, it'll get, so let it cool down once in a while by simply not using it.

Lvling tips for vagrants

ok so lvl 1-9 are pretty easy

mah gawd double digits, is this why people call this game teh uber grind?
not to worry, u just may be lvling incorrectly!

first off, when you attack your mob make sure you attack one that is at least 2-3 lvls higher than you. This will ensure that you will get a decent amount of xp per mob kill.....xp? if you don't know wut xp is or exp....why are you on OnRpg?

continuing.
pwlvling is a great way to lvl up. This is when a person that is 15 levels or below, higher than you attacks high lvled mobs resulting in you getting a buttload of xp per kill.

I'd only suggest this to more experience or desperate players because you tend to not have any chances to pick up some money during you lvling.

Lvling with a party is only a good idea, if everyone in the party is either
A. working together to attack a high lvl mob
B. having each member attack mobs by themselves, speeding up the amount of kills you have each minute.

other wise than that ur pretty much giving away your precious time and xp to those that are lower lvled than you!

Upgrading

This is key as you progress
you can upgrade ur armor and weps by using powerdices
these come in
PD4 for +1-+5
PD6 for +6-+10 (max is +10)
PD8 for piercing ur armor
PD10 same thing
PD12 any type of upgrade with higher chance of success

if you try to upgrade an item to +4 and it fails, the item will dissapear, so if you have bad luck, upgrade to +3 and stop, cus +1-+3 don't destroy ur item

Cards
A card?? its rare! lets sell it for 1 mill? NO U N00BZORS! dont'!

a card is simply used for upgrading and element on ur wep, or! special cards that can upgrade you armor when its pierced

piercing? elements?!

yes

every mob has an element, and if you play pokemon or yu-gi-oh, you'll have a general idea of what to do, and if you don't.....

water beat fire
fire beat wind
wind beat rock
rock beat electricity
electricity beat water
and so on

mind you, cards only work on weapons

Piercing is when you make a "slot" avalable on ur armor so that you can upgrade it even further. What you do, is you use a PD 8 or 10 and go to the NPC that sells weapons, when u talk to him, it should have a piercing option, click it.
Drag and drop the materials you wanted pierced into the right slots
and go!

if you fail...oh boy.....

lol

anyhow once its pierced you should see this (0/1) when you roll over your armor. This means that you can used some special card that will add a certain amount of extra defense or attack or etc to ur armor.

oh yeah, upgrade your stuff by double click the upgrade item, and click the item you would like to upgrade.

Chatting....

just hit / in your chat box
how?
hit enter and now you can chat!
there is general , shout, troupe(party), guild, and whisper

jsut click the appropriate icon and talk away

or open up ur messenger by hitting "E" and talking privately to others
