As I have been seeing a few RP's that have some loopholes around the current RP rules, I proudly present a new RP rule which should've been added years ago:

12. If the said roleplay does not reach the general standard of the Roleplaying section, it will either be closed or the topic starter will be given things to fix about the roleplay to fix, if s/he doesn't comply within' a certain amount of time, the topic will be closed

And about the rule edit, I'm editing rule 11, changing it to four weeks of inactivity instead of two.

Seems good. Unfortunately, no amount of rules are going to be able to change the sad fact that most of these RPs die before reaching completion.

The board I do most of my RPing on has very few instances of "dead" RPs, and most of those that do die are poorly designed, and fail due to an overload of complexity, such that posters can't even be bothered figuring out how stuff is supposed to work, or are too simple and boring. This board, however, has many quality settings, but they all just die.

I transplanted one of these games to another board that hadn't even heard of RPs, and despite some ups and downs it's still running quite strong.

This should be added.

You forgot to mention the fact that the RP section is dead here. And the fact that not many people do much other than fantasy style RPs.

Dane, we tried a sci-fi RP once, it didn't work out...

For some reason, this section just died. It's the most quiet I've ever seen it. A topic here or there that is against the rules, but that's it, and even those don't get 3 posts in 'em...

Really, this is just sad.

EDIT: If I could, I would start an RP, but I've never been good at setting a scene and having other people play it out for me. I'm too independent of a writer when it comes to that.
