It may not be a grind in terms of levels, but it is a grind in terms of gameplay. The gameplay is very bland and very boring. I could not level past 5 out of boredom, but this happens with most mmos. The PvP is also very bland, as you must fight in a group and you are ostracized unless you have good prior experience. What do you think about this?

so all you signed up for was to start a flame war about guild wars? i can't change your opinion about thinking the game is boring but i can give my opinion.
the game was unique in the sense that the level cap was so low yet there was much to do even in PvE. lots of quests and mobs, and if you couldnt get a party you could use npcs. the pvp system is probably one of the best that i've played.
and lol.. you couldn't level past 5? what class were you?
guild wars isn't a grind.

you couldent pass lvl 5.... newb.
anyways i do agree guildwars is a massive grind, well only to the fact of getting the "Legenday Defender of Ascalon" title, basically get to lvl 20 in the pre-searing. im lvl 17 so far(pre-searing)

Grind is where your only purpose is to level, and do nothing else. You can reach level 20, and much furthur, by doing quests alone. When you kill monster as passing through a quest, it is not considered grinding. By doing quests alone, and never killing monsters for the sake of leveling, its possible to hit max level and get extra skill points for after.
The PVP you can not have an opinion on from being only level 5, when you reach AT LEAST max level, and are in serious PVP, it is some of the best ever.

You say this happens with other mmos too, that means that everything you say is disregarded and null because everyone here has played at least 1 game where they don't feel that the grind is bad.

The grind isn't even that bad you finish 1 quest and a half *not NPC quests* and then you basically leveled up. It's like that from level 7-12

According to your logic almost all games are a grind.
In FPSs you just go around and kill people over and over again.
In RTSs you just go build a army and kill people over and over again.

GW isn't a grind because it's actually FUN to play it's pvp. I actually said: "I'm gonna go play some pvp and not looking toward awards, but FUN." You could NEVER say that to other games such as WoW, because the goal is to hoard cash, honor, items, etc.
if GW is a grind tell me one game that isnt then....

Sounds to me like you shouldn't be playing MMOs then.

Guild Wars is extremely repetitive. There's nothing new it has to offer but a little better version of what is already out. I mean there are lots of people who play Guild Wars and stop in their first few hours. But then there are people who love the game and do not think it is repetitive.
Keep in mind this is only my opinion and not to be criticized. You might think it is fun and I might not.

The way you worded it, seems like your trying to make it look like fact. Also, no one will care about your opinion when you've experienced less then 1% of a game. I could play WoW for 10 minutes, tell everyone how much it sucks, and no one will listen, no one would care anyways, but at least if you said you got to max level (even though thats not a big accomplishment) and didn't like it, you'd be at least slightly credible.

I never heard anyone say Guild Wars is a grind. I would hate to see you try to play something like Silkroad. You wouldn't even make it off the first map.

Basic parts of GW isnt grind, then most titles are, lets say tyrian vanquisher title, you have to kill 8,826 - 10,665 mobs to get it. But none of the titles (expect Sunspear title) are important, so theres no grind if you dont seek it.
and if you play storyline, the exp gain speed is just fine, considering mob lvls.
