((My pathetic attempt at reviving the RP section begins!))
June 27, 2007
The world is no different then it has been for years. People drive to and from work via fossil fuel powered cars, work tedious jobs, and then return home at the end of the day. However, unknown too many of these people, there are creatures in their world. Creatures that would do them harm. These creatures are often the subject of myth and folklore: Goblins, Orcs, Trolls, Dragons, some even dare to say ancient gods and goddesses. Normal men and women have no knowledge of these creatures, monsters and demons.
This is where They come in. The youngest of ancient warrior families, these people fight a never ending, some would say hopeless battle. Fighting to protect people from these threats, They are what are known as the Guardians.
They fight using ancient weapons, weapons meant for the purpose of combating these creatures. Weapons that have souls bound to them for eternity, souls of saints and sinners. After all, what is more potent in raw magicks than the human soul? Problem with this is, the damned things never shut up! Though, it does give them the ability to unleash a powerful blast of soul energy, and slay these things too, I guess. Anyways, I digress... Normal weapons cannot harm these monstrosities, they do not possess the magicks needed to combat them. So, in passing down their combat styles and knowledge, the families pass down these ancient weapons as well, as there are few left in existence. Though, it is thought that some can enchant small numbers of bullets for use in dire circumstances...
The Guardian families have stayed in touch for thousands of years, forming alliances and pacts to deal with large outbreaks of creatures. How these are formed is often left to chance, be it two Guardians chasing the same prey, or or a planned ordeal.
Alas, I have been rambling far too long now, my son is about to depart on his own, and I need to wish the young fool good luck.

((Alright people, listen up and listen good! I'm going over the character sheets now, so pay attention! I want you to PM these to me, I'll PM ya' back if'n I approve, and if I don't, I'll let ya' know what to change.))
[Name]: Elias Reem ((Yes, I like the name "Elias".))
[Age]: 18
[Weapon(s)]: Long sword "Esteem"((NAME your weapons, these things are old, enchanted, and they have souls.)), and shield "Raijin".
[Personality/Background]: A laid back, and fairly lazy youth. Elias is the first son of the Reem family. He never liked his studies, but he knew his role and its importance.
[Appearance]: Standing just under six feet, Elias has long, cornflower hair with eyes of deep blue. His skin is pale, though not quite pasty. He commonly finds himself wearing loose fitting jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt.
[Magicks]: N/A ((Keep these reasonable people! I don't want anybody blowing up stars or something.))
[Soul Release]: Banishment: Pure soul energies pour forth from Esteem, setting anything in its path ablaze with unearthly flame. ((Picture this as a "finishing strike" or whatever, using the stored soul energy in your weapon. You MUST HAVE ONE, no more, no less. Again, keep these reasonable, though more powerful than magicks.))

Orem walked over to Elias, still preparing himself for his first real hunt. Sure, he had been on them with his father, but never on his own, and never with anything more than a couple goblins. "I hope you're ready for this, son. I won't be their to pull your ass out of the fire should you go in over your head." Orem said, his aging eyes gazing upon his now grown son. Only yesterday, were they completing his training.
"Don't worry dad, I'm going to be fine. You've taught me everything I'll need too know, and besides, this is New York. If I get in to deep, I'll call for help and run when people show up." Elias would never actually do something like that, the creatures would slaughter the helpless passersby without a second thought. "Anyways, I've already moved into my apartment, I'm just picking up Esteem and Raijin to go on a quick hunt. Don't worry about me."
"You tell me not to worry, but I'm going to anyways. I'm your father, ceaseless worry is part of the job description." Orem wasn't going to let his son see him cry, but he could feel the tears welling up inside him, so he decided to shoo his son out the door. "Now get going, your first hunt awaits, doesn't it?"
"Yeah yeah yeah, I know. I'm going. Be seein' ya, dad." And with that, Elias stepped out the door and walked to his car. A two hour drive awaited him from his dad's home to New York, and his first solo hunt.
((Yes, I know it sounds like an anime, and yeah, it does kinda suck. But the RP section needs some damn life in it, and hopefully this will get it some.))
