Howdy,

Had a question about a full INT build...

(Fire / Lightning)

I read quite a few posts but there were some specific questions I didn't really find out about nukers that are still lingering in my mind.

1. What skills should I train first? and how far should I level up them?

2. I know the spear is more dmg for magic .. but I wanted to wear garments, so I figured I would go sword and shield. I was wondering how much that would hurt my leveling pace vs leveling with the spear. I figure it's sorta a draw since I won't use up so much healing items or sit as much.

3. At what point should I try to farm SP? I was thinking once I hit lv8 and upgrade my weapon to farm up at the chi'in tomb ... but until what level? I can't see the mobs levels in comparison to my own so I am unsure exactly how long I should farm in and in what spots.

4. Weapon Skills .. when I should I train these? and should I bother training any of the shield skills (since I was planning on going with the shield anyways..) I know I get 300pts total to spend, and I understand I am going full INT so fire / lightning is going to be my dmg dishing areas ... but there was some passives I will need in weapon skills no?

5. Finally ... Money ... everything costs such an insane amount esp. those star of seal things lol. Whats a good way to get some cash flowing going at the start of the game?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, lets see, you'll basically want every single skill from Fire and Lightning. Maybe not the physical dmg buffs in the Fire tree, but doesn't hurt to have them. Your main skills are obviously the lvl 30 fire and lightning magics(and their following books), and the fire imbue. Dont bother learning the lightning imbue, fire imbue is all you need. Every skill in lightning will help you, except for the imbue. In terms of planning your build, although current lvl cap is 70, i expect they'll raise it to lvl 90 at some point to match korean sro, so i'd say plan to put fire and lightning on 90. This leaves you with 120 masteries to spend on weapon trees. I'm not a nuker myself, but I think most nukers carry both a sword/shield, and a spear. You should probably use a spear at most times, because of the damage. When you're grinding, in most cases, you'll probably kill the enemy before it can reach you with ur nukes. I think its a good idea to get heuksal(spearmanship) mastery to lvl 60, so you get the health boost from the passive (which is a great help considering the little hp you will have). You could spend your other 60 masteries on Bicheon(swordsmanship). As for weapon skills, i think if you're adamant on using sword most of the time, you should probably learn knockdown, and the chains. For spear, you just want soul spear and ghost spear. Soul spear for the stun, ghost spear for the knockback(book 2 and 3).

BTW, Garments will leave you very weak to physical attacks. I suggest using protector. Most monsters are physical attacking, and wearing garments means you'll die from a critical hit from a giant.

As for farming, the best way for you to farm is what has become the traditional way, get yourself a lvl 16 bow, have a mastery gap of 9, and spend your days killing bandits at the bandit den at lvl 16.

As for money, dont go for seal of star items straight away. They're expensive cos they're rare. If you go for standard items, you wont have money problems. At the early stage, it only makes sense to go for standard items, because you'll lvl out of them so fast. After lvl 30 or so, it makes it worth to to spend big, because lvling gets a lot longer. But really, you mainly just need to have a decent amount of money by the time you're lvl 20. Then you can start doing a few 1star trades and getting yourself as much money as you need.

thanks for the reply.

I switched to protector last night, and ended up going spear .. the shield was nice to use but the sword .. omg .. no way I could level like that lol. Might keep one around just for pvp I guess.

Thanks for the response about the fire / lightning trees .. was wondering what to take there.

I do have a question about that 3% @ lv1 Lightning tree buff (first one you can get at like lv7 or 8 i think) ... does it buff all magic dmg? or just lightning magic dmg?

Also I am curious as to why you would want to take the physical dmg buffs in fire? Case my nukes miss? lol

Currently I am just barely lv11 / with ONLY lv5 fire mastery + lv1 fire imbue (have like 175 skill pts saved up atm)

just didn't want to waste pts on useless stuff so :)

Thanks again, and hey, im still open to suggestions! ... remember there are no stupid questions ... only stupid answers.

Cheers.

The lightning buff affects all magic damage. This includes you're imbues, aswell as your nukes. It's basically a must for almost everyone, since everyone uses imbues. About the physical dmg buffs in fire, they're not really a main concern. You don't have to keep them up to date, and in reality, they'll have very little affect on you're dmg. I was just saying, that they wouldn't hurt, you can ignore them completely if you wish. Might aswell get the passive though..all passives are good. BTW, you might no know, that the Fire Shield Phoenix skill is actually usable with all weapons. In the game it says its only for shield. But what you can do is, equip a shield, cast the buff, then switch back to spear, the effect will stay. It helps in pvp, specially important against freeze.

PS your nukes cant miss...but they can be blocked by a shield...shields are a pain in the ass(im a glaiver myself).
