Last year i took Visual basic at my school and this year i am taking C++. I would like to get a head start while leaving for France tomorrow so that i'm in good shape for when class starts. I went to Barnes & Noble after seeing the o great Rush Hour 3 and found myself puzzled to which book to get while visiting France. The languages are similar so it shouldn't be hard for me to understand C++. I looked at a few books such as C++ for Dummies and Ivor Horton's Beginning Visual C++ 2005 along with a few others. I'm not sure what book to get, C++ for Dummies didn't look interesting.

Dang, you're lucky you got to take BASIC... I'm going into my freshman year in highschool, and because I'm taking almost every honors advanced class, I can't take basic, or ANY computer programming class for that matter, because of my conflicting schedule. -_- It stinks... so I have to take all these business classes. :)

Oh, and just because a book doesn't LOOK interesting doesn't mean it isn't, or that it isn't informational. Don't judge a book by its cover, literally! (Unless you already looked inside.)

well i did look inside but it was a bit plain and stuff already talked about i knew. I also looked at the reviews for it and some were good, others were bad. Its also suppose to have and i quote "multiple errors in the programs written in the book."

so yeah xD
