I think it's about time that our society started shifting away from Carbon, and its adverse affect on the environment. What do you think is the best method to do this?

IMO, a Carbon tax for citizens would work because each individual plays a part in the problem. If we limit the individual's carbon, then we can therefore limit the bad affects on the environment.

The idea is good. But execution is very difficult.

well lets think about it, 4% (says Yahoo.com answers) of the carbon in the atmosphere are made from us using man made machines, but the rest of it is from the earth itself. now, b4 you start complaining i'm not done yet. the the ground has tons of carbon dioxide inside of it, in fact, farmers release tons (literally!) of carbon dioxide everyday just by plowing the field, so on top of man made machines comes our own use of nature which is the real killer of the earth.
but to be fare, taxing the higher up companies for the reasources they use should make sense

Yes, the execution will be pretty difficult, but it should be worth it in the end.

What the government should do is work with the private industry to gage how much Carbon there is on the individual citizen, and then add that amount to the April 15th tax

You want to tax me everytime I breathe. Don't we exhale Carbon Dioxide... Or do you mean taxing for releasing Non-bonded carbon.

I think i'm missing the point here..

Finally, someone who caught on.

I did this as a test to see how much OnRPG knew about science... I think it failed.

He is... it's funny how people started breaking out figures, putting on nerd glasses and white coats.. "Uh 99.9946% of all carbon molecules are not caused by humans" lol wtf...

Before I broke things, though, 3 people said carbon tax on companies, and 4 said WTF. (The carbon tax on citizens is mine, because I wanted to make the illusion that I was serious). I really worry about those 3 people.
