I doubt your kids are going to get corrupted by online games if you raised them properly. Toontown is the only MMORPG I can think of that's designed for kids. If you don't want to expose them to any obscene (that's the proper spelling, by the way), I suggest you try to find something else for them to play with. MMORPGs have large communities filled with nice players, jerks, and almost every possible kind of person you can think of. You're going to find rotten people in every MMORPG. Heck, there's a chance that some person will slip into Toontown and start cursing and going out of hand.
EDIT: By the way, people ALWAYS find a way to bypass filters. If it's impossible to bypass the filters, the filters are overly restrictive. Believe me... It's ridiculous when words like "Assassin" turn into "******in". That happened to me in a game where "Assassin" was the name of one of the classes. Smooth. Oh, and "gpotato" was filtered in Flyff. Reason? "pot" Significance? Gpotato hosts the game, and it's also name of the cash shop currency. Filters tend to restrict legitimate players more than players with wild tongues. I don't ****** but I've been filtered countless times. On the other hand, I've seen people cursing left and right in games that supposedly filter curse words. How can you help it? Let's say the word "too" is filtered. People will do things like t.o.o or t-o-o just to bypass the filter. If the filter catches that, it will also do annoying things like filtering "Is it okay to open this?"
Summary: Filters won't save you from curse words. Really, they won't.

Well NEaB (my sig has a link) may be a little advanced for 7 year old, but that depends on your kid :D There is almost always a mod in chat and we have a pretty comprehensive filter. The community is 90% positive and the 10% of bad eggs are soon routed out... If you want any more info mail me either in game, on forum or see you in NEaB chat :D

You could try FlyFF. There's also a brower rpg called dragonfable. It's only online through duels, though.
