Additional Information: Originally, this game was owned and run by e-games, however they could not keep the game online and had to shut it down. GTHeu has bought the game and all of its files from Smartec, the original creators of Gate to Heavens. Now GTHeu is hoping to bring GTH back to life with better protection, more events, and more features to be completed and added such as the 2nd awakening.

We are hoping to get more people to join our community, and we thought getting the game posted on a site such as this would increase our chances of new players joining for our Closed Beta and eventual Open Beta.

This game used to be run by another company/team. They ended up shutting it down for some reason.

It was a decent game though. Felt like a Lineage 2 ripoff as well.. I think they both used the Unreal engine or something, I'm not 100% sure.

The game couldn't be kept online due to the horrible security and lack of effort by the devs. GTHeu has done everything they can to make the client absolutely hack-proof; and should anybody even attempt to hack or use bugs to their advantage, they will be punished accordingly. Cheating in any way will not be tolerated and rules will be strictly enforced. This is not an understatement, we plan to make this server successful and do what e-games failed to do.....to host a secure and fair GTH full of updates, events, and additions.

We are hoping to draw more people back to GTH so that our community can expand. Im not sure about the Engine but I can ask if you want to know.

i joined the game weeks before it closed, it was worth playing, ive never seen anyone hack or glitch though. People would just give me free buffs.

Most people would not hack in the lower level maps because they had already cheated their way to the higher maps, but I can assure you it was a huge problem. Not so much for the newer players though.

And yeah, most people are very friendly in the game lol. The GTH community has grown very strong. Almost everybody has known each other, and if you are a new player then you will be greeted by many people. Such a way of doing this is creating your own thread in our introduction section of the forums. I've been adding screenshots to the website. The head administrators have added the first 10 screenshots, while I have added the other 5 screenshots. I will try to find more screenshots later to add. I have asked an administration member about the game engine, but he is not sure what it's called. So I plan on asking the technical support guy what it's called and see if he knows. XD

This is great, I learned about GTH after it was closed down so i had no chance of playing the game myself. Now i will be able to, I'm pretty anxious to get in the game already.

Just an update: Closed beta accounts have been increased. Instead of just having 50 accounts, the administration has decided to increase the number of accounts to 150 since the demand has been considerably high. Closed beta has been moved to september 12th, and will last 1 week. Those who participate will be given 10 free experience potions, and the right to keep their character when open beta is released. As of right now, the first 50 accounts have been taken, leaving 100 left to be given.

Not a problem my friend, I hope you enjoy the game when it starts. You got lucky, usually it takes a day to get a response :P. Today has been especially active and 43 more accounts were handed out. 93 accounts so far have been given for closed beta, there are still 57 spots left.

Still haven't gotten a single response to my Application, and I sent it in four days ago.

I was really looking forward to this game, and if my application didn't get in, that's just utterly sad, due to the fact that it was 1 1/2 pages long, and I basically put alot of reasons to why I'd want to play.

You only had to fill out the information that was posted earlier. And actually, admins don't have accounts yet either, including myself. Lucky has been so busy getting the actual server online that he hasn't answered any emails. He can only come online on wednesdays and weekends. Since it is the weekend, he is busting his butt getting the client ready. Client and server have successfully been finished. Only few adjustments need to be made (i.e. map names and item descriptions) and the game will be up and running. Compensation will be given to the closed beta testers for the extended delay. I hope to see you in-game, Lucky will respond to your email shortly after the game is uploaded to the website. I will remind him to make sure he checks all of the emails he has received.

He has just been so busy with everything: The forums recently had a wave of 100 Chinese players come in so now we need to make a Chinese section. He needs to put advertisement banners on the forum with other gaming sites that we are advertising on. We need to also make a Chinese interface to the forum (currently English and French exists). And he needs to definately get those emails checked. So as you can see, he has his hands full. I assure you, compensation will be given to those who have experienced delays.

Alright, I understand now, you and lucky are going through the release period, I should have looked at that before, I reccomend you hire more Support staff, and perhaps more server coders, you may think that you have enough, but apparently not.

Oh, for sure. I know he doesn't have enough staff, we have tried to convince him to get more but I don't think he has the funds for that yet. Perhaps after the first few months of being online and getting some funds, he will get more people to help him.

I only do what I can to help him, i'm not technically under his employment.

For those who have closed beta accounts, CB has officially begun. You may download the client from our forum at www.gtheu.com/forum. We are currently having problems with the game (registering accounts to the server) and getting the patches to work right. Remember, the purpose of Closed Beta is to find these problems and eliminate them before Open Beta starts. Admin is also working on emailing everybody back that requested an account. well i missed my character from the old gth thx to the lack of security of e-games to maintain a non-hack server. but oh well might as well start a new one wen its open beta

i bet a good 60% of players will quit within the first month or so, because it wont be as fast pasted as it used to be with all those duped pots and items.

Ugh my apologies everyone, I have been so busy trying to sort out issues. I WAS told that Open Beta would be on the 24th, but I was recently told that It will not be able to open this soon due to many complicated issues in Closed Beta. Although this is only the test server, I will list problems we are currently having.

1. All players can use GM tools.
2. All players can create any item they want using GM commands.
3. There is too much lag.
4. Exp rate is a little too high.
5. Not all maps are online yet.
6. BLANK swords need to be eliminated.

Now, all of these things can be fixed VERY easily, however the owner of the game server, Lucky, needs to give the source code files to our Head Tech team member. Lucky is not one who trusts easily, so we have had problems convincing him to give the files. Not only this, but he is only online 3 DAYS A WEEK! This is very bad and has greatly delayed the progress of our server. Tomarrow we are going to have a meeting to discuss options. The goal of the meeting will be to:

1. Convince Lucky to give the source code files.
2. Convince Lucky to give ownership of the server to a different member of our tech team, Megaone, who can dedicate himself better to the well being of the game.

We already know who it is that we want to own the server. Here is a comparison of the two.

Lucky: Online 3 days a week, 8 hours each of those days.
Megaone: Online 7 days a week, 10 hours each of those days.

We hope that things will end up for the better, but just to let everybody know: due to these horrific delays and events that we have had, we probably won't be releasing Open Beta until sometime in late October. I will keep everybody informed until then. I will also post the results of the meeting here later.

Again, I am very sorry for replying here so late. Please post any other questions you may have, but please do not flame. I know that a date way given for Open Beta before and we are well past it, but hopefully we can work things out in the coming days.

Hey guys, here are the results of the meeting as I promised I'd post. It's straight from the website and forum.


Greetings players.

I'd like to thank the members of the meeting for their participation, we got a lot accomplished with our discussion. Here is some information from the results of our meeting:

1. Lucky will give remote access to the server to both Megaone and FairX.
2. Lucky will give the source code files to FairX, allowing bugs to be fixed very quickly.
3. Some of you will notice that you cannot connect to the game now. This is because the server version was recently changed, and hopefully you will be able to reconnect by this Sunday. FairX will be working on the client to add the newest client as soon as possible so that you all can play again.
4. Lucky still needs some files from Smartec in order to move forward with Closed Beta. This will take 1 week. After he receives these files, more maps will go online.
5. Lucky will be giving me the support@gtheu.com email address, so I will be dealing with the emails from now on. I will announce when I have received the information to access this email address. You do not need to worry about me ignoring your emails, I will respond within a day. Do not send emails yet, I have not got the actual email account yet. Once I get it, I will email the first 57 people back with the remaining closed beta accounts.
6. Finally, the GM commands abuse that has recently been going on will be stopped permanently sometime after Lucky gets the remaining files from Smartec.

Hope this helps everybody. I expect things to move very quickly now that more of our tech team members have remote access to the server, especially once the remaining files from Smartec arrive :). We originally thought that things would be able to go well without all of the files right away, but apparently that is not the case. So, I apologize on behalf of GTHeu for giving out a release date that could not be met. Next time, however, I will make sure that the next date released is a date that will be met without delay. This is why we haven't released many dates since then, is because of our last mistake of releasing a due date that couldn't be met.

So please stay tuned, I will keep you all updated with news as I receive it :) We want to make sure that everything is as perfect as possible before releasing it to the public and announcing Open Beta.

i doubt there will be charges fee on this game as its previously free to play

GTH is free to play, there is no cost. However, you do have the option to buy premium items from our store if you want to enhance your gameplay :)

We are aiming for before the end of October. On 10/10/2007, the 2nd phase of closed beta will begin in which all 190 beta accounts that sent their requests in time will be able to play in the game.

Well so far the game server has been offline for about a week now. Lucky hasn't been telling me anything even if I ask him. It's kind of frustrating, but I made a backup plan. I am not sure if any if you are familiar with Archonus (also known as damodar) from www.gamehaze.com. Well we talked and he bought the GTH files from Lucky. So now we will leave it to lucky to host his own GTH, while we intend to host another international server that has actual progress. Damodar is currenly in the process of downloading the files from Lucky's FTP. When this transfer is completed, we will then concentrate on putting everything on a server, assigning members of damodar's staff to certain responsibilities, and putting the server online. I am hoping, as I am sure everyone else is, that this server will be more successful. At least once damodar has the files ready, he will have many people to help him with everything.

EDIT: recent update

Today a new Client will come with a new Server version.

Some bugs are now take out :

Dupe is now patched.
Item Graphik are patched.
The client is now 100% Full Screen
The limit of the server changed : 30 to 3000 players

The agreement was that Lucky could run his server and GameHaze could run their server just as long as they share the updates and fixes that are done to each server. Personally, I think the GameHaze server is going to flourish much more considering their community holds over 184,000 members. Still, the original GTH community that resides in GTHeu will always be my "online family."

In reality, GTHeu is just way too slow in development and support. I will support both servers, but will probably spend most of my time playing on the one that is most successful. I will be a moderator as well in the GTH GameHaze forums.

Open Beta for GTHeu has begun. If you would like to play GTH, then please go to www.gtheu.com and register on the site. The account you make on the site will also be the account you use to log onto GTH. Upon registering with the site, you will need to wait until your account is added to the game server before you can log into the game. They are currently working on a way to do this automatically, but for the time beign all accounts will be added manually.

Server is down for the moment, but will be up for players in the next day or two.

For those who do not know, Gate to Heavens has moved to http://gth.gamespirate.com. GTHeu has failed to maintain a stable server, so now I have joined GamesPirate. We are currently in the process of adding an expansion of features to GTH, so check it out if you like. The Onrpg Gate to Heavens page will soon be updated to reflect these changes. Details on these features will be released later on.
