Q: WILL THE LEVEL CAP EVER GET HIGHER?!?!?!??!?!?
A: No it won't, if you want a level game go play WoW or something!

Q: Where do I get Guild Wars??
A: You have to buy it at a local game store

Q: What is the main site??
A: www.guildwars.com (http://www.guildwars.com/)

Q: Is it free??
A: After you buy the game, yes it's free, no monthly fees, but they are releasing optional expansions.

Q: What is the max level?
A: The max level as of now is 20.

Q: *my personal favorate* OmFg I jUsT gOt PwNeD bY a LeVeL 3 aNd I aM a LeVeL 10!!111!!!111!!!!11!!!oneone!!1 wTf?!?!?!/111!1!!!!!11!11
A: Guild Wars is not a level game, its about skill mostly, this isn't WoW..

Q: Which is better, GuildWars or WoW???

A: They're both very good games, and if you prefer a one time payment with a decent story line and skilful battles, chose Guild Wars
but if you like the classic MMORPG type game where you go party with a bunch of people and go party hunt boss or something, and leveling up all day all night, go with WoW.

Q: How much does Guild Wars cost?

A: International wise, it costs all around $40-50 dollars USD

Q: Will there be expansions in this game, I think they should....:"...."

A: Yes, there are currently 3 expansions for the game. Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North.

Q: Is Factions/Nightfall an expansion, meaning, do I have to buy the original game to play Factions?

A: Factions/Nightfall is a stand-alone game. You can play one without the other. However, there are certain advantages in buying both. Namely you get 2 additional character slots from aside from the basic 4 and you can level a character on Guild Wars to the best it can be, then transfer them to Factions.

Q: What classes and races are there in Guild Wars?

A: There are currently 6 different professions in Guild Wars, and they are:
Warrior
Ranger
Necromancer
Elementalist
Mesmer
Monk

Factions specific professions:
Assassin
Ritualist

Nightfall specific professions:
Paragon
Dervish

The special thing about GuildWars is that you can chose more than 1 profession for your character, that means each character will have 2 professions (ex Monk/Elementalist)
there are currently no other races other than us humans (or as Rurik called, "Ascalonians")

Q: HELP! my GuildWars seems really screwed up compared to the ones I saw from the website!!

A: You probably don't have the system requirements for the game, here's the system requirements

Minimum System Specs:
Windows® XP/2000/ME/98
Intel Pentium® III 800 Mhz or equivalent

If you're going to say Ritualist, include Assassin too.

Guild Wars: Factions

Warrior
Mesmer
Monk
Ranger
Necromancer
Elementalist
Assassin
Ritualist

Professions in bold are the added classes to Guild Wars in Factions.

May I add a frequently asked question?

Q:Is Factions an expansion, meaning, do I have to buy both games to play Factions?

A:Factions is a stand-alone game. You can play one without the other. However, there are certain advantages in buying both. Namely you get 6 character slots instead of 4 and you can level a character on Guild Wars to the best it can be, then transfer them to Factions.

I've got a question.. How can i see on the map what npc give quests? And where do the most quests are for a lvl 5 ritualist.

That's not really a frequently asked question... but here goes;

1) NPCs which give quests are NOT shown on any maps, except as their normal green triangle. However, quest objectives are shown as green asterixes (* <-- slightly bigger than that).

2) By following the Primary Quests (Press [L] and click on the Quest underneath Primary Quests), you should have a substantial amount of quests to follow. There are 3 obvious quests in Shing Jea Monastery throughout your leveling on Shing Jea Island, namely a quest to get Tanning ingredients, a Naga quest and an Escort quest.

Might I also suggest when you are given the option to choose a second proffession that you do all the quests. This allows you to gain approximately 30,000 exp points, where otherwise you would only get about 10,000

Unfortunately, the 2 additional classes for the expansions only apply to their respective campaigns. Meaning, you can't use Assassin/Ritualist on a nightfall or prophecies campaign. Not in the beginning anyways. There's a way to port over to the prophecies campaign from Cantha and quite possibly, there would be an option to travel to Elona now as well.

Also, there has been an estimated 2 expansions coming out per year. This year being Factions and now, Nightfall. With each expansion comes a brand new campaign, and 2 new classes to choose from, as well as some new equipment and skills probably.

Annoyingly I can't find it now. But I read somewhere on the Guild Wars website that you can create assassins and ritualists in Nightfall.

It says in the nightfall manual that you can find the port city in Factions and sail to the port city in Nightfall with any character (including Assassins and Ritualists). But you can't create any of the campaign specific characters in any other game.

No, you cannot play together except in PvP. Each game has their own continent, so for example, if all you have is Factions, you can only play in Cantha. If all you have is Nightfall, you can only play in Elona. If you own both though, your character can travel between them.

And you can still use items, such as green weapons, from Factions on your Nightfall character; you just have to buy them from someone.

Im sorry i dont remember but 1) are we going to be able to bring our charectors to GW2 or not and when that comes out 2) are they goin to keep doing events in the original gw games and are 3) they going to up the lvl cap on proph nightfall and factions? 4) and any news on proffesions in EoTN. and 5) i hear u can become a charr in GW2 IMO THATS ****IN AWESOME any other critters u can be?

1) We can't bring over our GW1 characters to GW2, in much the same way we can't transfer from Diablo 1 to Diablo 2, NWN 1 to NWN 2, SW:KOTOR 1 to SW: KOTOR 2.... mostly it's technical, and would you really want to stay stuck as a level 20 while the other GW2 natives don't have a level cap (or level 100, Anet isn't clear on this yet)? :)

However, when you buy GW:EN you'll have a Hall of Monuments (?), a museum of sorts where you can enshrine your character so that people can see your achievements (titles), armor, weapons, etc. This is Anet's way of recognizing all the hours of gameplay that we spent in GW1.

Then when GW2 comes around, and if you link your GW1 account to GW2, you can access the GW:EN Hall of Monuments and display to GW2 newbies your life as a GW1 player, and they can appropriately "oooh" and "aaaah" at the right places :D

I'm not clear on this one, but there will be special bonuses accorded GW1 players with Hall of Monuments in GW2, like maybe being able to use your minipets, armor, weapons.... a lot of this is still up in the air though.

If this works, some GW2 players might even consider buying GW1, and thus keep both games alive. Either way, it's a win-win deal :3

2) When GW2 comes out, Anet has said that they will still support GW1, but maybe in a much diminished capacity. Officially, GW:EN is the final release in the GW1 series, but they remain open to anything and everything.

I'd like Anet to maintain their weekend events even post-GW2, as anyway it's all in the coding to activate, and it'll give something to do for GW1 players who haven't moved on to GW2.

3) The level 20 cap on all GW1 games will stay like that, level 20. As announced by Anet, GW2 may have a level 100 cap, or higher, or none at all. It's too early to tell.

The confusion might have stemmed from the PC Gamer issue that featured both GW:EN and GW2. The exciting features of both games may have been mixed up by the excited reader, and further misunderstood by those he relayed the news to, who passed the info to yet others down the grapevine (second- or third-hand information)...

4) No new professions in EOTN. It's an expansion, not a standalone campaign like Factions or Nightfall.

No word yet on GW2 professions, and if any of the ten GW1 professions will be implemented. On that note however, I'm pretty sure there'll be an approximation of the six core classes.

5) For now, the announced playable races in GW2 are four: the nymph/dryad/elfin Sylvari, everybody's favorite furballs the Charr, the technologically advanced Asura, and the viking-like, shapeshifting half-giant Norns.

Makes you wonder if there'll be humans. And I'd have liked playing as a Mursaat, or Centaur, or Tengu... those existing races in GW lore. But then again GW2 is a hundred years after GW1, the GW1 races might have died out or something...

Stand-alone games

The Guild Wars: Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns are all stand-alone games.

This means that if you want to buy Nightfall, you won't need to buy Prophecies or Factions for it to run on your computer. Just install it, create your account and you're good to go.

Yes, you can say that Nightfall is another "world", but actually it takes place in the continent of Elona. You can roam everywhere in Elona with the characters you created.

Prophecies meanwhile, takes place in Tyria, and Factions is in Cantha. You can not access these continents (your "worlds") unless you buy their respective games.

Therefore later on, if you would like to buy Prophecies or Factions, you can just add the account codes onto your existing Nightfall account, and your Nightfall-created characters can now explore the new continent :)

Expansion

So far, there is only one expansion in Guild Wars. It's called Eye of the North, and it will be out by August 31, 2007. As it's an expansion, you will need at least one of the three games above (Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall) to be able to run Eye of the North.

I don't know where you live, but I saw a package selling a Guild Wars: Prophecies and Eye of the North bundle. Try to find it, I recommend it. It'll be a good introduction to the game. You'll have the original game (Prophecies) plus the expansion (EoTN) that features the best of the two other campaigns (heroes, etc.).
