There is honestly a few ways to look at it. Maybe he had a few days off work, and had some free time to burn away; vacation day as such. Perhaps more then one person was working off of that account? If it was ONE person to achieve this, and you still judge him this way, it's also pretty sad to judge someones life negatively in general. It could show insecurity within the person judging, but all in all; grats to the 70 guy.

That means those 300,00 players that were left playing wow spends hours apon figureing out the ins and outs of WoW....

First of all, i dont play wow, and i did not get a sense of how difficult it is to reach to lvl 70 in 23 hours, but after i read the entire story, this guy belongs to a guild called GreenBase, his whole guild worked as a team to help him, they planned this in advance, worked out each persons role, and got this guy to lvl 70. Do you really think it is because this guy has no life, he just game 23 hours a day? the answer is no, he did this for his guild, when this made the headline news in the biggest mmorpg website, it also increased the popularity of his guild. He showed ture passion for mmorpg, he worked hard for the love of game, love of his guild, there is nothing wrong with it. einstein, edison, newton, all these great scientists locked themselves in their room worked for days, are people now critizing them of having no live??? the answer no.
dont even bother to reply if ur the ones who play a mmorpg for 2 mins and delete it because u cant stand a min of the grinding, and telling people how horrible the game is.

Nearly four out of 10 adults in the USA will be obese within five years if people keep packing on pounds at the current rate - putting their health at risk, says one of the top obesity researchers.
Currently, about 31%, or about 59 million people, are obese, which is defined as roughly 30 or more pounds over a healthy weight. Almost 65% are either obese or overweight, 10 to 30 pounds over a healthy weight, which increases their chances of developing diabetes, heart disease, some types of cancer and a host of other health problems.
39.8 million American adults; more than 57% of American adults are overweight (CDC)

I find the constant reference to this man being Asian quite funny. So I take it, any task on any game ever is impossible unless you're Asian? Only Asians are capable of sitting for more then 5 hours? Not to mention everyone who talks about this guys life being so bad, I take it; in the future all of your will be necessities to man kind? You're the picture of perfection, your muscle percentage is 100% and you're the life of the party all of the time?
So, while you all invent the next form of energy and develop a constance for plasma; which of course you will. I'll go play some sort of game for four hours and 59 minutes then get up, because I'm not Asian and sitting for beyond 5 hours is far too much for my American mind to comprehend.

You guys seem oblivious, let me set the stage:
Post popular game in china hasn't been updated in years.
Everyone is maxed out and at lvl 60.
Boom update comes and introduces 10 more levels.
People playing marathon style for a couple days, Houndreds, dare I say thousands, of people racing for the glory of the new cap!
It's not something to call people lame about.
1. It's just 10 levels.
2. It hasn't been updated in superlong
3. Player base was lvl 60
4. People racing to the cap is normal in mmorpgs
5. 23 hours isn't such a long time.
I'm sure people took a day off our two just to hit the cap fast.
And people don't just play for fun, we also have;
1.Enternainment
2.Competion
3.Glory
In an mmorpg many times the grind is hardly "fun".
Concluding:
Congrats dude, you beat everyone to 70 and now gained super popularity points with the gaming community.

Quite impressive to do that, that fast, even with a guilds help.
For you ppl saying he's a loser, I fail to see it. If I hadn't had an update to the MMORPG I play, and I knew the release date of TBC, and my guild offered to lvl me up to 70 as fast as they could, shit, I would totally take the day off work and play 23 hours. Once I hit about 24 hours though, I would be passing out at the keyboard, but imo it would be worth it. Also I'm sure he went to the bathroom and ate food. As it is possible to eat and play at the same time, especially when all you have to do is tag the mobs.

Shame the guild effort really takes the shine off the solo effort. I've done the grind 1 to 70 (12days 8hours played first lvl 70 dren on my server, 18days total) and 60 to 70 solo with only help from people in the areas I was hunting, there is no way a single gamer could achieve that 23hours, but grats to the guild.
Note: if your gonna say I have no life I've heard it, I know played to much back then but I was first. People cheered, jeered and revered me for it.

The kind of reaction I see in these threads are always astonishing.
Granted he got to level 70 in 23 hours STRAIGHT. That IS kind of scary/sad/weird. But you gotta remember, it's also 23 hours PLAYED.
The WoW /played time only counts how long you've been online. How many people say they can make 60-70 in 23 hours /played?
Granted he probably had access to other versions of TBC, private servers might be included, so he probably level from 60-70 over and over quite a few times.
I doubt anyone can do it if it's their first time playing TBC. He had a whole year to get familiarized with the content if he wanted to. The guy from Europe only had a few months.
And yes, Asians are crazy gamers. But that's just how we are.
