Was anyone else dissappointed by the ending?

Not as much as I was at part 2, though watching the last part of the legendary ending confused me a bit. I might have to watch it again to full understand it.

is it another one of those "to be continued" kinda thing like they did with the first 2?

You guys are nuts, the ending was BRILLIANT. I swear, there was a tear in my eye until I watched after the credits, and then after that I had a fuzzy feeling in my stomach, as if it was just perfect. I loved the ending of Halo 3, and I think they did the best job possible finishing it. And hell yeah, I would love Halo 4.

Halo 3 just ROCKS. <3 it.

Halo is the most over-rated FPS series that has ever existed. I've played all 3 of them (single and multi) and they aren't that good, I don't understand the obsession.

Because you fail at life.

I've loved Halo since the very first one was released, and after buying it on the week of it's release it TOTALLY saved the Xbox for me. Hell, it revolutionized FPS's for me (and console games for that manner). I was beginning to think the PC was where gaming was at, but Halo: CE changed my mind completely. Unfortunately, whiners like you just don't get it. Halo FTW!!

P.S. Halo 3 was amazing. Far better than Halo 2 was. <3 it.

Halo didn't revolutionize console games (especially not of the FPS genre, the game that would be closest thing to a revolutionary console FPS would be goldeneye for the 64), it is a poor FPS compared to the PC games available (CS, BF) likely largely due to the controller. Standard controllers (the Wii might be an exception since the controller acts in a similiar fashion to a mouse) are bad for FPS games.

Yeah, says who? That's just your opinion. Halo did much more for me then either Goldeneye/Perfect Dark/Counter strike combined. It was a far better FPS in my opinion then all of those, that featured the ENTIRE package. Great solid gameplay, with an amazing campaign (with an equally good story), and just down right awesome multiplayer (and don't forget the music!). Halo:CE just rocked it, and yes, it did revolutionize gaming in general for me. Just because YOU don't think so, doesn't make it so.

How about try playing it first? You're a "hater" without reason, just like every other sheep that always *****es about a product that's proclaimed great and is popular (whether it be Halo, WoW, Harry Potter, etc.). It gets old after a while.

Halo has not done anything for FPS's that other FPS's haven't done first (except being the first very popular console FPS). The first decent FPS on a console (that I can remember) was goldeneye 64. Decent FPS's have been on the PC for years (since I hated not being able to aim up and down in Doom I'm going to call Quake the first good FPS for the PC). It wasn't the first FPS to use ingame VOIP (counterstrike used it before halo, I have no idea the first online FPS that used it in-game), it wasn't (unfortunately) the first FPS to be pay-to-play (planetside, if you want to call that a FPS), it wasn't the first FPS to use vehicles (Battlefield, again I have no idea which was the first FPS to do this). So what did Halo revolutinize?

You keep saying that it did it for you, sounds like it is because you became addicted to it without trying the others first, fanboi?. Halo's gameplay is O.K. and the single-player campaigns are mediocre with a weak story (I don't have an opinion on music as I don't use it when playing FPS's).

If you read a little you would have noticed that I have tried all three, also I don't hate Halo, it just isn't the be-all-end-all FPS nor what I'd consider the best.

*Side-note I'm not a fan of WoW or Harry Potter either, though I respect what they've accomplished.

First of all, Goldeneye was a terribly over-rated game that wasn't that good to begin with. I had a N64, I spent days playing it and beating it, and in the end it just leaves you unsatisfied (partly due to the horrible controls). Halo was the first OUTSTANDING FPS that had ever sucked me into it story, and combined a mixture of everything you said up there. Great gameplay? Check. Amazing story and music. Check and checckkkkko. Addictive multiplayer? Yes sir. Near seamless FPS/Vehicle integration that does it right? You got that as well. Halo was the first to do all of these things so perfectly, in one amazing package. See, if you play Halo NOW, sure it wouldn't seem amazing. But if you would have played it at it's release, it was downright revolutionary to play.

I had played Half-Life a year before I picked up my Xbox, and yes I do own Half-Life 2 and CS (although CS 1.6 kicked ***). The whole Half-Life series is terrrrribly over-rated, and every time I play it I always think to myself "whats the big deal?" They just don't engross me, and most of the times i'm pulled out of the experience by the dull periods of time in which your running around with no purpose killing stuff. Blah. And ah, Halo's music is amazing when it kicks in in game. You're missing out.

If you read a little you would have noticed that I have tried all three, also I don't hate Halo, it just isn't the be-all-end-all FPS nor what I'd consider the best.

I doubt you've given Halo an actual chance, but I can't prove you haven't so oh well. We all have our opinion I guess.

I hate to say this...

But he is absolutely right. (Referring to sKin)
Halo HAS Revolutionized how consoles and PCs are played. If it werent for halo, you do know that microsoft would have NOT sold one Xbox? Halo is the official "cream of the crop". If it werent for halo, no one would give a crap about anything microsoft related. Halo is way better than any FPS out there, CS, BF, you name it. I support his points. (Again, referring to sKin)

...You're kidding, right? Maybe for consoles - and you can quote me on this - but for the PC, there are much better FPS'. Much. Better. As for the "cream of the crop," line, I believe that's completely suggestive. Again; Halo was only a key game for it's release during the XBOX's initial launch. It only appealed to audiences because of Microsoft's ability to do some serious damage with their product placement.

The last statement, however, is completely obnoxious. It's an opinion thing, but there's one thing you have to understand about Halo, and that is that Halo itself was incredibly overrated. The story is engrossing, but Game Play is above average at best. No where near perfect. If you want the true experience of "warfare," then log yourself into BattleField and try dodging an Artillery Strike, while Sniper Bullets follow you like a trail and Stealth Ops tackle you head on with C4s and SMGs.

I can agree with you to some part.

But my personal experience is this.

I showed Halo to my 5 year old cousin. He who has never played any shooter or action game other than GTA Vice City. He isn't much with gaming(He's 5 no duh).

It was an instant hit. He was drawed to it. He asked if he could play it everytime I came over. There were other games I showed him but he tossed them aside. Games with flashier graphics or weapons.

Something about Halo just attracts people.

So Halo 3 should have debuted as:
"4 out of 5 five-year old toddlers prefer Halo!"

Look, there is NO other game SO original as Halo.

You are so right! Halo was the first FPS ever! Well, not quite... The first console FPS ever! Arg, no... The first FPS to use grenades! No... The first FPS to be set in the future! Nope... The first FPS to allow people to dual wield weapons! Not quite... The first FPS allowing people to drive vehicles! Oh, nope... The first FPS to allow people to connect using the internet and play against each other! Blarg, guess not. Halo was the first to be massively overhyped and the first to charge people a fee to let them play this mediocre FPS online! BOOYA nailed it!:p

Battlefield 2142 is your answer.Halo is just another overhyped game that frat boys love.

PS:Halo is....original?Uh,sure.Know what Halo is?A COPY of a game called Giants:Citizens of Kabuto.Know those super original suits? From Giants.Know the aliens? They look alike Reaper Guards, from Giants. The story when compared, feels like Halo ripped off parts of it.

Oh and the one word to shut 'em all!

Halo, the best FPS ever eh?I counter with Far Cry.

You're obviously retarded. Either that, or you were born in 2001 and have never touched another FPS since birth.

Almost everything in Halo was already done. The only thing that can define Halo as "original" would be the Needler and parts of the storyline.

i would get halo 3 but thing is i dont have an Xbox 360 and Xbox ... plus its coming out for the computer... all good Xbox games also come out for the computer GoW,Tom Clancy games,Halo 1,2,3(I bet they will make it for vista), Huxley, plus the PC offers Mods,Custom Skins.

Also another rant who ever said halo is the most famous and made all the ideas... heck if you said Unreal tournament might be more true... heck i doubt anyone who plays halo could survive in UT >.< (unless they played it before), heck theirs even more tactis if you play with your friends ( alot more in UT2004), Heck atleast each game they add something new... halo feels like same game better graphics... I mean come on name one gun in halo 3 that takes skill... then in UT i havent found an instant kill gun (acception of head shot with an sniper
In my opinion I thin Unreal tournament Series is alot better then Halo 3... i think super smash bros too... well who doesnt find it fun to beating up pickachu and Jigglypuff with an base ball bat >.>

Dumbass don't be an idiot

Bioshock is far from original. There hasn't been a single game in the past 2 years that can be counted as original. Bioshock just did something that got washed away from a couple years of generic shooters. It doesn't make a it a bad game but I'm sick and tired of it being called the most original or innovative game made.

And Far Cry? Get out. It's one of the worst and most boring shooters ever. The graphics hold some value but otherwise it's pretty much the same throughout.

the scratches on da limited additions aren't really scratches. the discs came out of the production line like that so when they put the data over the scratches so it doesn't even affect gameplay.

the campaign impressed me, and it also didnt. i was hoping for more of a giant battle between human/elite vs brute, sadly there was no climatic event as such. Although the campaign is annoying, damn skulls, damn meta games, damn repatative-ness.

on the upside, online is awesome.

Theres no such thing as a perfect game. And even thought i do not find halo to be interesting(my opinion), i have to take in fact that it was the game of the year for fps and i reward it for making it that far. But calling it a perfect game is far in over rating it. calling it perfect is like saying gameplay is perfect, graphics and everything is. Id like to say crysis graphics steps on it with ease and in my opinion, counter strike source gameplay reigns over it like halo was its *****.

one last thing,

MASTER CHIEF IS BLACK
