ok i tried asking this on another forum but they didnt kno what to do

ok so on my desktop, if u turn on IE, it starts out normal, but if you type something in the url box and press enter, more IE's keep popping up (they dont finish loading) and they freeze the computer. the only way u can go on other websites it to search it on google (google is my homepage) but if u click a link on a site that starts a new IE, the same thing happens when u try to use the url box. if u want to click on a link that starts a new IE, you have to hold shift while u press it and 2 things pop up, the new site, and an IE that doesnt finish loading, u have to X out the IE that doesnt load. anybody know a way to fix this?

Since 2 out ot 2 people suggested firefox so blatently, I will as well, just for the heck of it.

Get Fire Fox.

Sounds like a browser hijacker to me.

Download and Run Adaware http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
and Spybot Search and destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/

If your an advance user try Hijack This http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php
But you will have to remove the entries yourself.

I would like to know how this is a browser hijacker.

What version are you using? Internet Explorer 7?

I'll be the fourth to suggest Firefox...

Reason? It just feels better.

I'd start out by thoroughly scanning your PC for trojans, viruses, and spyware. If the problem persists, download the latest IE, uninstall the one currently on there, and install the new version.

If you still have trouble, get another browser.

I concur. I like Opera a lot more than Firefox.

i'd suggest scanning your pc for spyware/adware/viruses
also get a registry cleaner, smart pc tools has one for free. http://www.smartpctools.com/clean_registry/index1.htm

i'd also suggest getting firefox and the ietab extension, it will let you open ie in firefox, good for those websites that are only built for IE
