Is there any way to buy just a cd key, rather then having to buy the whole game discs and all?

im almost possitive you can just buy everything from the site and make an account and stuff. Becuase I know my friend didnt have to buy the game he just got it off the official WoW website worldofwarcraft.com and al that so I know its possoble so just look arouind the website : )

you were like me when i first started playing games, well yeah there is and thats by buying online, and it takes to have credit card on your own,=p..there are sites offering that kind of service just sending the cd keys instead of the whole game itself via email and some other system, i dont know if im allowed to mention where i got my stuff, but anyways i say it here with no any intentions but helping you with this one, you can try to speak to the support of gamersloot.net they will help you with this concern..i rather not tell how good they are right now because for sure you will find it out as soon..

Well yes! there are lots of online stores out there. Some of them won't ship any gamebox they only be sending the cd keys/gametime cards via email. As I've heard gamersloot.net is one of it. You can try to check it then and ask further details on how if in case you don't want your credit card be charged with blizzard.
