You could try www.planetside.com the reserves get you up to battle rank 6 at which time you must pay 15 bucks a month to go past that. There are 24 battleranks and each battlerank gives you one certification point. You use these points to buy the ABILITY TO USE (not skill that comes from the player) vehicles, weapons, and armor.
I got to BR 20 and played for over 6 months before basically it can have up to 100 vs 100 people battles and these battles can last for hours. The only downside id say is it can take 10-15 mins max to get to a huge battle but even then id say usually somewhat less time if theres one going on and if a continent is not population locked.
There are 3 sides each with their own specialization ill let you look that up. Overall the game is based on aim and controlling your reticle size. Also those who move with a squad > those who don't. You can become a good sniper in this game as well bolt driver sniper rifle kills in 2 shots so you have to fire and reload. Although that may sound bad if you get good in leading your target your going to get a good 15 kills or so if you find a bunch of infantry which in big battles is very easy to do.
There are 2 shotguns(one is based on being on a particular side) plenty of automatic guns. Heres a tip if you do start playing to fire at long distances crouch and burst fire 3-5 times then stop for like half a sec-sec then re-fire. If I had to compare it to any game I would say its like halo without headshots and probably slower(never played halo just looks similar) Check it out for free and although its P2P later on if you like it like I did you will pay it gladly.

if u seek for a free one u could try starsiege tribes (lil bit dated tough) or return to castle wolfenstein: enemy territory both are fairly good for free games. if u wan't to buy one i suggest sof2 u could find one in ur bargain bin, but only buy this one for multiplayer cuz single player just isn't worth a try. this game is still played much in multiplayer.
