If don't see how having an extra 4-7 hours a day would help someone get a life, then you aren't doing it right.

God, dont u sleep? I hardly have anytime to play on Weekdays.

I wake up around 6. Then go to school until 5pm everyday because of extra curricular things. I do homework, eat dinner, and shower and stuff. By that time its already 10-11pm ish. I need to go sleep for the next day already.

Edit: This topic is kinda stupid, because if ur a person who gets offended wheen they say u have no life, you probably dont have one. Like calling a fat person fat, will be offended more than a person who knows their skinny. o_O

I used to play MS everyday after school. I still managed to get 90s for every class (well that was middle school... which is like 2 or 3 years ago.) But it is best not to play that much, it really distracts you.

I kind of think it is no life to play so much hours, especially when you play MS the WHOLE day during the weekends. Well, I used to do that... but the thing is...there should be better things to do than MS, honestly.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm busy 90% of the time. Activities include sports, hanging out with friends, doing homework/studying, and stuff like that. Then on weekends, I sometimes drive to my cousin's apartment at UAB and party with him. I'm not trying to say that I'm the most popular guy out there, I'm just saying that I have a busy life.
If having a life means that you party daily and dick around all day, then I don't have a life, and I'm fine with that. If you say someone needs to get a life, then why don't you be a hypocrite more, because if you waste your time saying that other people need lives, then you must not have a life as well.
I play MS whenever I have the time, or I just want a break from the pressures of high school life. It's not like MS is a way of life, it's a GAME. I know plenty of people who play games to an extreme extent and still hang out with friends.

My point is: Who cares if people say they quit games to "get a life?" You can play games and have a life just as well as you can without one. Your ability to commune with people is measured by your willingness to take an initiative and sometimes embarrass yourself.

Just so everyone is on the same playing field.

We all have lives.

Got it? Everyone on this earth has a life. You might think I'm being too literal, but it's true. We all have lives, so I want everyone who has ever said to someone else "You don't have a life" to shut up, because they do have a life. The only difference is what we choose to do with our lives. I might only play a few hours a week while my friends might play more each week. But just because someone plays more then me does not mean they have no lives. They just decided to use their time to play a game, and I'm perfectly content with that. I also see people saying things like "You have no social life, stop wasting time playing a stupid game". I'd like to tell everyone of those people that 'Life is basically a waste'. Some people play games all their lives. Some people sleep life away. Others hang out with friends. Even more use MySpace. They are all 'Wasting their life' as you so bluntly put it.

Adam already said it, but Maple Story is a game. The point of all games if to relieve stress, and if you consider games a waste of your life, then you can't go on the internet without being a hypocrite.

Everybody has a life, I really dont ge that thing about...go get a life.
You have your life you choose whatever the hell you want to do with it.

If 4-7 hours of gameplay is what you like to do, go ahead, trust me, you can have a gf(YES A RL GIRLFRIEND, YOU KNOW THOSE EXSIST), good grades, or other stuff you guys might consider as "Having a life".

Just because someone plays 5 hours a day that doesnt mean they stay all day in a cave just playing video games.

Yea, I play around 1-5 hours a day, depending on how much time I have on my hands or if there is nothing I have or want to do, and LOL TRUST ME, I have enough time for everthing, I want to do, if you dont, its because you never bothered to find it.

Woot for CoD: 4!!!

Anyways I quit Maple and its not because I need to get a life, but because of my stupid comp. -.- Even if I had MS back I wouldn't play it, considering how much homework I have. Yes I am a nerd... without pimples and glasses and pants that goes past my nipples. I'm just a normal teen who likes to study and keep my mind off of games.

pants that go past your nipples? O_o

i'm a gamer, and games are a part of my life. I quit MS with the reason "I need a life" also, but I realize on the contrary, I was just bored as hell of MS.

And now that I have a little urge to play MS, my comp doesn't handle it... (the same one that did handle it back in March of last year).

My point is games doesn't need to dominate a person's life. Games can be a part of a person's life, let it be a big part or a small part, does not mean they don't have a social life. If you can logon and talk with others on MS and enjoy it, you have achieved a social life. If you find having an internet girlfriend and dates with Rosey Palms & Thumbalina and be satisfied, then so be it. Life is about enjoying the things you do, and avoiding the things that you don't. It's understandable that there are things that have to be done regardless of your position on it, but that doesn't mean because you're doing something wrong means you don't have a life. Those that use the excuse "I'm quitting to get a life" are using a scapegoat. Reason being: I do not know.

Hope you enjoy reading that.

I agree from Random on down. You play this game for enjoyment. (Well I do anyway) If I wanted to go do something else, I'd do it. (and I do!)

I would go on this long tantrum about how videogames are actually good for you (this being because there is a popular belief among people that videogames are a waste of time: Social barriers, synthesis and researching skills INCLUDED in the reason why they actually HELP you) buuuuuuuut I'm not going to do that..... I almost want to.... *sigh*

No. I won't.

But yeah I agree with Random on down.

I'll have to agree, I have as much of a life as everyone else that doesn't play MS. I have a gf, I drive a car, I play basketball, I play guitar, I go out on the weekends and still find time to play MS.

I have about an hour a day on weekdays to play even with basketball practices, honors classes, finals, etc. and my grades are up...sorta. I find time to hang out with friends, live a normal life and be a "nerd" at the same time.

omg i quit this game for a year (was so happy) and now i recently joined it back (such a curse). If i could not be addicted to this game it'd be nice. I can go out there and make something with the 3-4 hours i do on this game.
