Cleaned out my Parents basement and grabbed 3 boxes of Comics (in plastic) from 1980s. Whats the best thing to do with this?
Go to local retailer and let them give me their best offer?
Sell all 300 on ebay (1 auction selling 300 books)?
Sell individually on ebay( 300 auctions selling 1 book)?
Im honestly clueless when it comes to online sellings aside from the ebay commercials.
Other ideas?
Let me know, thanks

It will all depend on the quality, rarity, and condition of those comics. It could be that you have 300 worthless comics.... but then again you may have a bunch worth something.
I would say to get a comic book price guide (online if you can find it, or buy a book from the local comic shop). That way you can look up the comics and see if they are worth anything. Just make 2 piles... cheap crap, expensive stuff.
Then decide if where you want to sell the expensive stuff.

What I know from collecting coins is as following:
There are usualy catalougues, that list all coins of any kind there is (for example one for all coins ever made by a certain country, including specials and collectables).
They are devided into described simple classes of condition and a price is listed in the form of single-entity standard market prices.
It will all go down to a barter anyways, but you could ask a lokal comic-book store if they have a similar catalogue for comics. If there is, you might be able to get a good rough idea what your collection is worth, with no real big effort.
edit: Phr0zen said the same already.

If you don't care too much about money and just want to be rid of them, go to a local comic book shop and see if they would like to buy any.
If you want the most money out of it, go through with a comic pricing guide and sell on ebay.

I have sold them on eBay before. THis is what you will want to do, you can either get a comic sales book right now (one for the year of 08) and check ALL of the comics that can be somewhat rare and see the value. A lot of comics even from the 70s and 60s are worthless. The only important ones are first appearence, first edition and first comic. These if they are in good condition you will want to get graded which will cost money but will give u much more money. I have seen an auction of one comic for for $400, the winner got it graded as a 8.8 and then sold it for $900. People will not but ungraded as much as graded. So thatis the way for the most profit but also the most work.

Go on like a comic forum and post them all to see if any of them are worth anything. Or search them all up online to see if any are worth something. After that sell them on ebay if you have any worth something.
To sell 300 comics, you just draw someone nearbie a cliff or a hole and ask for lots of money. He will reply "This is madness!"
And then you shall shout "THIS IS SPARTA!" and kick him in the gut.If he doesn't fall, push him.

Hey all, I want to thankyou all for your help (er except the last guy)
I guess what Ill do is throw like 10 up on ebay and see what happens. I saw one of those grading books at Barnes and Noble (about $20) but likely a sound investment for this process. I ran a few of them on ebay to see what people asking. It seems to vary but a lot of them seem to range from 99 cent to $4. Perhaps that is all because of condition (Took me a bit to figure out NM meant Near mint). I dont have any way to grade them, but they look in good condition (no bends, rips or bubblegum stains :) ..so Ill start at the 99cent.
It is wierd tho that some are auctioned for 99cent but then ask for $6 for shipping. To me, it seems to defeat the purpose.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks for all the help

If your comics are 99cent ones and such, you are better off selling all those cheap ones in bulk I would imagine. Do you really want to package and ship 300 comics individually?
Cheap = sell in bulk
Expensive = singular (or grouped by series perhaps)

Hey all, I want to thank you. I threw 10 up on ebay and 2 sold. Honestly it wasnt that hard. However I can see why Ebay and paypal are worth billions ..they just keep skimming off the top. Still I would describe the process as ok.
Thanks again
