Was going to start Ubuntu today on my computer, and my dad gave me the wrong CD. He gave me the CD to the actual OS installation. I only wanted the boot and voila CD. Anyway, I started it and thought I'd install it then. Because it had the option to install it and still use windows so I could "switch". And wtf do I see, the thing changed my D:/ partition to a SWAP! A FUDGING 189.2GB SWAP! WTF! Now all my sh!t is gone, and I have to create a new D: partition. That's 189.2GB of porn, games, music and anime.. Why?! WHY?!
I also have to reinstall Vanguard. That game is 17.9gb big and you have to download it via the SOE launcher -.- C*CK.
Sorry, had to get that out of my system. Are there any partition recovery things? I've tried one now, but it still says my D:/ partition is unknown. Do I have to create a new one or do you guys have any miracle programs? (A)

Ok, might not be too late then. I've already formatted and created a new partition. But if that tool of his can still get it back, I'd be more than happy to have it. As long as I get my anime back, because no one seeds it anymore -.-

Well for a fat or ntfs file system I once used a program called GetDataBackNTFS (or fat) depending on what you need.

I used this app years ago so can't comment on its effectiveness now. However, It was a 8 gig drive that I formated. It recovered about 6 gigs of data. Not bad I guess.

Just hope it can recover Vanguard or some anime atleast, would take days to download 17gb then patch it, which is another few gb's.

It will take a while to recover that much data anyway. Do you have another drive that you can even recover that much data too? (ie a separate drive?)
EDIT: I probably wouldn't bother recovering Vanguard. Might be better off to do a fresh install. But mp3s and such would be aight.
