The creator of playerworlds die from liver disease, he was going to get a transplant but he died before he could so the playerworlds site is shutdown for good...heard this on a different site.

I hear he dies every couple of months or so.
Seriously, try Elysium (http://www.splamm.com/elysium) instead. Its based off of Mirage Source just like PW, but it has an active admin and community, with loads of new features.

Seriously, so many free 2d orpg builders have open source that people start to steal and give away the code. In the end, they're all claiming that "the other" is the thief.

If it's open source, then they aren't really stealing now are they? ^_^

Here is an example:
--2D mmo program developed and free for download, but the owner (Guy A) wants to keep its source secret.
--Some guy (Guy B) comes up and hacks the program or code, modifies it a bit, and claims it as his own, without any credit to the origanal owner.
--Guy B grows board wih his (stolen) product and makes it open source, and free for anyone to take and modify on their own.
--Others come, modify the code, and claim it as their own.
--Guy A is POed because Guy B stole his work and gave it out to the world and everyone has a copy of the source, to which they refuse to give credit to the origanal developer.
--In the end, Guy A is forced to make his project open source in order to hope for more hits to his website.
It is the idea of theft and break down. Someone steals what you own, spreads it about, and you suffer the consequences. -- In fact, that right there describes eBaumsworld <--which must die.

oh... From what I read, some guy hacked and threatened to realease the source but the original guy beat him to the punch and realeased it anyways. Besides.. I thought you need the source in the first place to steal it. That can't be hacked by an already compiled program?... bleh, I'm confused now...
oh well.. I do agree though that eBaums is evil. Down with eBaum!
