Which maple story class should I be?
Take into consideration too, my friend will be leveling with me, he is going to be an assassin. I am thinking of spearman, but I am having second thoughts? Any sparkling ideas to contribute, onrpg?
Thanks in advance.

1. There's a MS Section
2. If you go spearman, you're friend will out level you and you'll regret choosing a slow ass character. Go be a mage or something.

first off i'm going to post here so prevent another topic being opened...

i've played warrior, theif, and archer... archer was by far my favorite... i refuse to play mage because they look like the just jumped out of my bedtime story... i don't like cloth armour or staves/ wands.

http://www.onrpg.com/boards/32.html go here to find out what class you need. and i was kidding about the bed time story thing.

1. I know theres a MS section, but many people who do not read the MS section and read this one have basic MS knowledge or once played MS; I posted in both.
2. Yeah I did think to myself 'hmm maybe I will regret a slow character', but I looked around it and it is much stronger, and being a good tank for my friend would be supportive for him, correct? Or do tanks not really suffice in Maple Story?

I did read that guide, but honestly it only made me more stumped about what class to chose. My suggestion towards his already good guide is to add multiple descriptions of each class by different people, even people who play one class and just see the other ones in action, and what they think of it.

I'd say go x-bowman. They are cheap to use, and have real high dmg when you hav enough mesos to fund your character. If high dmg isn't your thing.....Make an i/l mage. They're pretty fun with the mobbing at early levels. I have a level 124 ranger myself and I've been happy with it. You need a lot of patience to train a bowman though. Hm.....If you like partying with people and not solo training, then a sin or a spearman would be your thing. But spearmen level slow as fuck and sins are very expensive. Not too strong if you dont fund them. And everyone hates sins. Hope this helps. PM me if you need advice/help.

Yeah, I admit that they pretty much suck.

But still, they get a ghostie! xD

And that's at level 70. Pages get them at 30.

Maplestory is nothing but grind, I suggest finding a better game.

1. There are HEAPS of people looking at the MS board. It's the most popular game on this forum. Most of us that dont look at the MS board, hate MS.
2. MS doesn't require a tank. It's not like the mobs will attack only you..they'll just walk through you, then your friend..thats what MS mobs do, just walk side to side. Go ranged or you'll get bored real quick (although you should be plenty bored of the whole game by the time you're 35 no matter what class you are).

Archer is the most boring character in the game btw.

Because you stand still the whole time, and hold down a button..

Yup.

I recommend picking another class:

With warrior, you get to hold down a button, and then move forward to the next mob!

With bandit, you get to hold down a button, and then move forward to the next mob as well! PWNAGE!

With assassin, you get to hold down a button, and jump occasionally! JUMPING IS OWNAGE!11

Finally, with a mage, you get to hold down a button, similar to ranger gameplay!

Come quick and join Maplestory! An intense, groundbreaking gaming experience awaits you.

MS = grind
MS 2xp cards = overpriced unaffordable to minors that dont have credit card which is the population of the players, minors
So its tough, long , boring, grind fest. what do ppl do? Hack it. Ruins the game.

You can't jump and shoot with an archer.. only assassin and mage.. tho mage's will miss.

You can jump shot with any class, just with Mage and Archer its about timing and pressing jump and shoot at the same time
