When I gaze upon this piece, I see a woman or a very slender male bleeding from the right side as they attempt to hold there wound as the encroaching darkness envelopes the poor individual.

Well I like it (Serix's piece). It looks like part of the silhouette of a person made from flower petals. Very pretty and minimalist.

Yeah lol, quick sketch I did, first time i've ever drawn a female, and my second drawing of a human for that matter, but shading will make her breasts a lil bigger :O

To me..looking at this "piece"...feels like going to one of those art museum places and looking at "master pieces" that look like some 3 year old took his frken toothbrush and smudged paint all over a piece of paper. WTF?

Yes I agree with the above posts, art now-a-days is all about fame. It doesn't matter what it is if you're famous then it's a marvelous masterpiece. The fans say you aren't sophisticated enough but non the less it's random crap. Go stare at a leaf you freaking... freaks >.>

normally i'd respond about how a piece doesn't have to be beautiful in order to be called art (See Agony in the Garden; Dying Gaul) but your post makes the same amount of sense as banana hammock.
Then I'd move on to explain how the piece was a doodle but it took origins in some of Henry Matisse's earlier works with lithographs, but I won't because there really isn't a concrete statement to make a response to.

I think the Dying Gaul is beautiful art, personally. I first saw it while studying classical sculpture back in a high school course on classical civilizations.

Also, Ithian, I'm going to agree with Serix that your post doesn't really make much sense.

The lunatic fans - If you bring up "this sucks, how can you call this art" they respons by saying you aren't sophisticated enough to enjoy it for what it is. However I was just saying that they calling random stuff art which pisses me off.

In response to serix's post. Dying Gaul is "beautiful". It has a very well sculpted human body with correct proportions. Something like that is very hard to create. Same with agony in the garden about it being "beautiful" in it's own way. Perhaps we consider beautiful different things. I don't mean it as pretty or good looking. I mean it as awe inspiring and masterfully put together.
