A fan has posted information on the N4G forums saying that SquareEnix will be releasing Kingdom Hearts 3 exclusively for the Wii this winter according to the latest March 2008 Nintendo Power. This is not confirmed yet since no one has seen the issue or seen any scans. However, the last Nintendo Power did say that in the next month's issue they would reveal a huge exclusive RPG for the Wii.....

I can't say it would surprise me...didn't they have one for the DS? This would be nice...I remember playing the original game and liking it...no PS2 anymore, so...hopefully! :)

I'm not a big fan of KH, but I know for a fact that they'd be slapping their extremely huge fanbase in the face. Most die hard Kingdom Hearties probably already bought a PS3 in anticipation for it.

Wii exclusive? Are you serious? KH is/was one of the most popular series on the PS2. Enix would be crazy to take it away from Sony, now. Some people bought a PS3, anticipating KH. I wouldn't mind it being a multi-plat, but an exclusive for the Wii, and betraying the Playstation? =(

It's a fake, it's already been stated that the third installment of the game isn't going to be following where KH2 left off, so it won't be called Kingdom Hearts, but rather a side story. I'll find the source when I'm not in class and I'm at home xD

That isn't the same as saying 88% of ps2 owners own a ps3. Anyway, Kingdom Hearts was an awesome game. Currently I do not own any of the new consoles, so I do not have a real opinion on the matter. I only really game on PC now. :D

Anyways I hope it's like multi-plat with the Wii because I seriously want that game. Too bad it's not coming out till I graduate.

That might have many problems with broken appliances, if you gotta swing the wiimote to swing the keyblade...cause if i recall properally when i was playing kh2 i mashed up my x button so much the remote just went failure on me.

upon reading all the posts in the thread, there's like a 99% chance this is fake. a lot of good points by some of the users of that thread and the linked thread to gamespot. such as one person said, that team is already working on several titles, one being versus. and a winter 08 release? in your dreams.

- Tetsuya Nomura is the game director.

There are no scans of the article and there are no other reports concerning the particular magazine issue. For the moment, the story is as credible as the original poster. Although he joined in November, he has started only two threads on N4G, the first one being about ´God of War´ for PlayStation3.

His recent comments betray him as both a spammer and blatant anti-Sony fanboy, though. This greatly damages his credibility, for sure.

Since October, Nintendo Power is published by Future US, who I am currently trying to contact. Rest assured that I will update the story within the next few hours.

EDIT I was just able to reach the publisher´s New York office, where the advertising people are based. They did refer me back to the editorial staff in San Francisco - who are not yet in the office - but the colleague could not find any such story flicking through the March issue.

It seems very likely that this story is bogus. I will update again once I have final confirmation from the editorial staff.

EDIT The publisher´s editorial director just sent me a couple of mails clearly stating that the March issue makes no mention of ´Kingdom Hearts III´ whatsoever. The story is completely bogus, I am afraid.

There has been MANY rumors of KH III. I've heard that it will be a ps3 exclusive i've also heard it will be multiplatform for the next gen consoles. But the next three CONFIRMED KH games will be for the DS,PSP, and your cell phone (Seriously) The DS title will be called Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. The Psp title will be Birth by sleep and the cell phone game will be Kingdom Hearts Coded. Yeah its confirmed these are the next 3 kingdom hearts game. KH3 =/= Birth By Sleep. Mickey has been shown in a picture of Birth By Sleep wielding the Star Seeker keyblade (which leads me to assume that he was training under Yen Sid at that time). Birth by Sleep is a PREquel, not a sequel. It takes place ten years before Kingdom Hearts I.

The next installment will not be named KH and its not confirmed its in the future most likely in the past when Terra ,Aqua, and Ven fought the old mage dude and Mickey was still a novice. You can tell by his keyblade he just finished training or w/e with Yen Sid. This was all speculated from the trailor.

This isn't true at all. See... More than likely Sony signed a contract with Square-Enix for the Kingdom Hearts name. Do you really think Sony wouldn't take a popular game like that and secure it for itself so its console could get a bigger fanbase?

If the Wii were to ever get a kingdom hearts game it would be something along the lines of Crystal Chronicles for the GC or Chain of Memories for DS. Not a true game to the franchise, but enough to rake in some money and please the Wii community.
