My computer was recently hit by a wave of viruses and removed many trojans using Eset Smart Security. However there is still an issue with my computer. I cannot open task manager, I do not have the run function (start, run), I don't have the option to turn off my computer unless I log off and turn it off that way, and I do not see my user name in the start window. My internet is going very, very slow as well. Help?

Use this.
If it doesnt help, boot into Windows safemode (Pressing "F8" repeateldy whilst starting up your system) and do another scan with the virus scanner of your choice from there.

reformat it. most computers will have an auto reformat put into them, just hit f10 repeatedly from when it starts up. depending on yer computer it should come up with a reformat thingo.

Thanks for the helpful tips. Unfortunately I could not not find anything using the website that was posted. I would like to try to do whatever I can before I turn to re-formatting. Any other tips will be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I tried to use System Restore. Unfortunately it will not let me go back to an earlier month, and the only restore points available are during the time the viruses infected my HD.

I will try it again. The first time I did it, my Internet was so slow it could not be sent to their site, or something similar like that. I am trying to use HiJack this and get some help on how to improve the speed, as I can't seem to find the spyware or virus after using Eset Smart Security and Spybot:Search and Destroy. I am able to use the Task Manager again and use the run command after using a Remove Restrictions Tool. I will post here later should anything change. Thanks!

You can try to download this program, use it to create a logfile and post it here (feel free to edit out parts you dont want people to see), or a spyware-forum, though my experiance with it is limited.

You can also try to get your answers here:

Eliminating suspicius or harmfull entries should be done when in safe mode with deactivated system-recovery.
(edit: you know about it already /O_O\ )
You can also try to use
run-> "msconfig" without the "" and start in the mode that only loads basic devices and drivers. that should keep malicious stuff from messing with your connection and is still more convenient than safe-mode.

Well.... as a latch ditch effort:
Download:
NOD32 antivirus (the trial is fully functioning)
Spybot Search and destroy
-Install both.
-Update both.
-Reboot -> safe mode
-Full scans with both.
If those don't clean it. Reformat your harddrive.
NOTE: if it is as bad as I think you mean, I would just reformat my PC and reinstall windows to be safe. That is your best bet. You don't want to take a risk of using an infected PC.
