Alright well im not having malfunctions yet i just need some help real quick

I have the Altec Lansing Vs2421 3pc Music & Gaming Speaker System

And it comes with a built in Mic, thats on the sound adjuster but i cant get it to work

Any ideas? And at my toolbar i have Microphone turned on

they are plugged in properly right? and are supported/compatible with your soundcard/chipset?

is it no sound at all or is it all crackly?
