I got money for my birthday, and with it I ordered Bioshock over Amazon.

I'm wondering what ya'll thoughts are about the game, and what I should keep in mind while I play it. Like, any bugs, any good combos for tonics, etc, why you think it's a good game. No plot spoilers, please.

Best 5 word response ever. I never played it but my roommate who is a big gamer said it was okay at best.

If you like multiplayer don't get it. Don't kill the little girls if you want the good ending lol. Oh and you can shoot lightning bolts from your hands.

One of my friends got it. He's more of a casual gamer I guess, than most people on here, but he seemed to quite like it.

awesome game. always kill the big daddys if they have a little sister with them. and once you have the camera take as many photos as possible.

I loved it. I just wish it ran smoother on my computer.

I loved the game, too bad I only rented it. Wish I still had it too...my friend just got it, maybe I'll borrow it from him.

*ahem* Anyways, keep in mind that the Hypos are virtually useless later on in the game(at least on lower difficulties) and that money becomes a damned blessing for hacking bots and the like. The passive tonics are quite rare, if you don't buy them, but are really useful. Other tonics, like the Fire Blast one, become quite useful as well; in fact, I kept the fire one on me at all times, as well as the ice.

I loved the game because it was so damned mysterious, and had so much variety too it. ^_^ I love games with good/evil alignment type things, like the KotOR games and Fable and such, so this was a great game in my opinion.

I torrented it, but unfortunately the game does not like Vista. I had to run the shit in Compatibility mode and even then the sound is cracky and doubles. I can't even hear Atlas' sexy voice.



Also, hope the game doesn't get ruined for you like it did for me. Some asshole ruined some of it for me. Man, now I know what it feels like.

Pfft, if you're tricky enough, you'd know how to set traps! Funnest part of the game! ^_^

Telekinesis + Explosive Darts = SPLICER ORGANS!

Storyline - pukka. will draw you in and make you hate/love the characters. you will care if they live/die (ps: kill all the little sisters, bitches need to learn the meaning of pain for getting up in your grill. mercy is for the weak)

gameplay - fluid. changing weapons/plasmids is a simple affair. one problem though, youll probably use only a few combinations since they are the "best"
combat is pretty fun, especially fighting the big daddy's. most enemies you can just blast to smithereens but other times it requires strategy.

atmosphere - absorbing. i found the lighting, ambience, scenery and sound effects to be frightning and also pulse pounding most of the time.

graphics - very nice. i played on max settings. wasnt disappointed.

longevity - like the first time you stay up late to sneak a naughty look at an adult film and fap whilst your folks are asleep, really fun but over too soon.


overall its a decent game. it didnt deserve the mega hype but it wont leave you feeling like youve missed out. you will however, depending on how much of a gamer you are, probably finish the game fairly quickly and be left wanting more.

If you played System Shock 2 and liked it, you'll like Bioshock. It's a lot simpler and dumbed down than SS2, but still a lot of fun.

I've only played the demo on a mates PC which can run it... I honestly can't wait to get my mitts on it.

thats the strategy part. dont blast like a maniac hick shooting trespassers, you gotta get the right tools for the job. its not a simple shooter.
