u can make one using flash but it will be pretty basic like this:-

Flash would require knowledge of actionscript and MySQL? So far from easy, atleast if you want to make something decent unlike AQ and those type.

Considering Gaia Online started out as a resource/search site, i think anything is possible now-a-days.

Well, generally, you don't just make one by your self it takes time and a team of people who know how to code/model/server providing and then you need a concept artist and software in order to model and code then. So to start off you need MONEY. Or theres the "other" way.

if your really interested and dedicated i suggest starting with rpgmaker its a basic program that allows you to create your own little rpg games basically look alikes of gameboy rpgs like pokemon/Final fantasy fight style and world but even in this you must learn about codeing anyways www.crankeye.com has great forums to help you if you really want to but dont expect something big like other people said you need a team and money especially if you dont have an engine to start with so yeah dont dream big start small real small.

You could use a basic RPG Maker 2003. :D Works for me, sometimes. I made my own MMORPG *have not released demo* took me 4 months but I got it.

Your best bet would be to use Rpg Maker 2003, but if your looking for some better graphics, go for the trial of Rpg Maker XP, but you only have 30 days and you need the buy the 60 dollar one to continue making the game.

Hmm, what else...
Scripting is gonna be something you want to get used to, well, not unless your using RPG Maker.

Other than that, good luck trying to make one. I am doing scripting for almost 1 year now, and I have to learn LUA scripting for my computer class for next year otherwise, I will be deemed the title, "Most retarded man of school." Ouch.
