The description of the character reminded me of a bad RP.

Though it looks good.

Indeed, she looks a lot like the Saya from Blood:The Last Vampire.

Not so much like the one from Blood+, in my opinion, but oh well.

When it's Gonzo, you just know it's gonna be good. The Afro Samurai-ish animation is gonna keep me hooked, i can feel it xD.

Sounds like a plot and character list that's been exhausted after farrrrrrr too many uses. Assassins aren't cool. Anime is like Hollywood, can't come up with anything new or at least interpret something old in a different perspective.

The art style looks very American (Even though it's probably not), very very ugly.

Edit: Omg, it is American isn't it? *gaaaaaaaag*

Okay... People have different opinions on what's cool or not it's just what interests you that makes it cool. What's wrong with American animation? Anyway it's a lot better then Japanese because at least with American animation they don't over exaggerate the facial expression to the point where there heads are 20 times the size of their bodies. At least with American anime they can be more realistic with their plot so it's not like it's an ancient civilization from Japan or whatever with flying dragons in stuff.. Not everyone likes anime to be some myth or folklore and not everyone likes those high school anime's with a teacher have double D's just for quick laughs and oh wait here cooomes the drama :3...

You already know all of the endings to every Japanese anime alive with the main character winning or a perfectly happy emotional that ends with a disney type of theme with them living happily ever after or the two demented high school student for 4 years now like each other after stalking one another so typical!

The fact that it comes from America doesn't make it bad.
Also wtf are you talking about the art style is F'ing awesome!

yeah the art style is awesome! its different from the typical bright colors that anime usually has.

At first I was addressing all anime, I've seen about 20 or so.

It's not so much the art style but the mannerisms or actions of "American anime" is so goofy and alien to the adopted drawing style. They try to duplicate anime instead of make it their own and it always fails. And for the record, there are a TON of anime that don't exaggerate their facial expressions, nearly all, if not all, of the anime that I have enjoyed don't use that.

Different interests. For me I love these type of anime's...
For me I love the American theme because it's modern and new but the animation is getting better from what it was before and it is progressing really fast.
It's just from a different perspective and they do make it their own style I mean how do you want an anime to look like? They don't have to look all the same O_o...
Anyways I don't mean the facial expression really matters or anything I just don't like how they try to make their anime funny by exaggerating almost every small detail and expect the audience to laugh at those corny jokes and mixed in with the Japanese... It just doesn't work for me...
Personally I'd take The Five Killers over something like Trigun or Deathnote any day but if something fails for you doesn't mean it fails in everybody else's eyes because it's just so refreshing finding something that isn't so typical every now and then.

You're right, actually. Saya from Blood+ looks more innocent where Saya from The Last Vampire is a lot colder looking.

Considering the plot is American made, it actually is Hollywood. Other than that though, most Anime series's have great, original plots.

LOL Gonzo.

The manga is great, not the anime.

Well, if (Gonzo)The Five Killers manage to pull off another epicness like Welcome to the N.H.K, it will be excellent.

Well there's no animation forum anywhere on this forum so this is the best place to put it.
Anime can have different meanings and since this thread didn't get moved anywhere then I guess it does belong here.

There's an affliation(is there any?) with Gonzo (In fact, the creator joined Gonzo).
In other words, it is still Japanese Animation, on the bigger part.

Anime is an abbreviation of the katakana word Animeshon. Which means, of course, animation. So it doesn't specifically have to be Japanese to be Anime.

You know what I noticed...
Anime - More realistic, and can die
Cartoon - Immortal, and bad art but really funny
