I just spend 30$ on a new headset with a microphone to play games, its pretty comfortable but after a long time it makes my ears really hot. It was fun while it lasted now I want to return it... Is 30$ too much for a headset? Should I buy a cheaper one?

$30 is pretty cheap for a headset.

Get colder ears.

saddly, if you want a good headset to use while gaming, your easily gona be looking at over 30. a good pair can easily go betwen 80-150.
but if your on a budget, my friend got this decent set for i think 30 or 40, should be able to get them at wallmart, brand is cyber acoustic. here's a pic:

though, if you can afford to put more money on it, logitec offers decent ones for the mid prices.

Are they easy to adjust? And, are they not too heavy for the ears? If you know what I mean.

they feel great, there soft on the ears, the microphone felt kinda oddly placed(its kinda far away from the mouth) put no one had trouble earing me talking so no problem on that, sound is pretty crisp to, no feedback. they adjust very well to.

I got that exact same one, and for what you pay for it, it's a 10/10 product.
Go for it.

Oh, and the mute switch on the volume control mutes the mic, not the headphones. took me the longest time to figure that one :P

I have some that where similar but they broke after about 6 months. I would opt you to get some to what they have all said, but then later get some higher quality this is simply because the upper brand offer more things, better sound control, and some have bluetooth with is so nice.

I have one of those cyber accoustics..... although they adjust well and seem to be made pretty durable I find the ear cushions to be a bit small, which makes it a bit uncomfortable. That one is only to use with a laptop for work.

The one I have for home/game use is a Sennheiser:

Now that headset is AWESOME. Incredible sound clarity which makes hearing footsteps in CS so easy it is almost like having wall hacks. HAHA

Those are mine.

The steel series Siberia earphones with a microphone, which clips onto your shirt, or screen, or hair, or where ever.

They're a little price, however, they are very good headphones.

I used to have a Cyber Acoustic headset (The one which was posted) before upgrading to these. They're not bad, but, if you're looking for something more than you'll want something more high-end.

Though, my Cyber Acoustic headset broke after a while (Microphone completely snapped off). So, I can't say it's the most reliable... However, mine did come free with my computer...
